As far as trading Wallace this offseason? No chance, Miami.
Because of the way the contract was structured when Wallace signed with the organization last year, the Dolphins’ only option at this point is to wait another year before releasing Wallace. In the likely event that the receiver doesn’t live up to his contract, the Dolphins can release Wallace and incur a dead money cap hit of only $6.6 million over the last three years of his contract. Mike Wallace who signed a five-year, $60 million contract last year, a trade before June 1 would result in an immediate cap charge of $8.8 million, which represents the remainder of his $11 million signing bonus. However, the Dolphins also would avoid responsibility for a fully-guaranteed base salary of $15 million in 2014. (Yes, the Dolphins are paying Wallace $15 million fully guaranteed this year.)

Next year, it will be easier to do since none of his salary is guaranteed. Come to think of it, Mike Wallace has just made $30 million in two years. Man, am in wrong business!

Just another way the old front office screwed this team

Not including Pouncey - who has his own issues - Mike Wallace is easily our best offensive player. Did we overpay him? Yeah, but that's the price you pay for failing to acquire quality pieces through the draft. Do I hope that Tannehill develops into our best offensive player? Of course. Is it possible? Absolutely. But we knew what Wallace was when we signed him. He's the same guy. You have to be able to connect on those deep passes. If you don't have a QB that can make Wallace a viable threat, you don't get rid of the better player to accommodate the lesser player's skill set.

Amazing...we finally get a guy who can't be covered deep and Dolphin fans are ready to dump him.

I saw progression this year, it takes time for a QB and receiver to get in sync.

I look for a big year from Tannehill and Wallace in year two.

why the hell would we trade like the 20th best receiver in the league that we pay like the 3rd best receiver in the league

How is it possible your not willing to give Wallace another year? Maybe Tannehill could have connected a few times with him
If he had more the 2 sec to throw the ball

You can't throw the deep ball when your QB is laying on his back every 3 drop backs. And the threat of our run game strikes fear in the Lbs on play fakes. Rush 3 get a sack.

Not his fault he's the 20th best on this team in last year's offense and offensive woes.

nothing is his fault ever. He could have broke the nfl record easily in his modest mind. Two years in a row he hasn't been anywhere among the best receivers in the NFL but its everyone elses fault.

Did you even read what you quoted?

We didn't get screwed. We have a ton of cap space this year The person who put that contract together was Aponte and she is still with the team. If Wallace doesn't perform like he is capable of, we can cut him next year with not that much of a hit to the cap considering the size of the contract.

You are going to look really dumb when Tannehill works out the timing with Wallace next year.

Jason La Canfora is as useless asa fish outta water

Be interesting to see how well he is used by our new OC. If we have any improvement on the Oline, I look for big things from Wallace.

Wallace is a top 5 receiver on a team with a solid offense and QB that can hit him. No one, I mean no one can cover him. It will take a safety over the top and a corner to trap him and that leaves other opportunities for the creative offensive coordinator. He should be north of 100 yds each game using both short and long patterns. Once we learn to do this, look out.
