Miami Dolphins rookie wide receiver Leonte Carroo learned on Friday he was going to start in the season-opener at Seattle. Carroo had a critical third-down catch in the fourth quarter, was a determined run blocker and received an unexpected compliment from Seahawks Pro Bowl cornerback Richard Sherman on the field after the loss. “Yeah he was on me the whole game,” Carroo said. “He came up to me after the game and said, ‘You’re a hell of a player. Great job. You know I have a lot of respect for you, just being a rookie.’ Because I was pretty physical with him in the run game and pass game. And I didn’t look at it as I’m going against Richard Sherman this week. I looked at it as I have to execute and make plays for my team.”

Caroo did well. Hes not going to be a #1 option ever but he is a nice complementary peice

I could see Carroo being an Anquan Boldin type player. Now if we could just get a Larry Fitzgerald on the other side

Very good to hear. It's tough being a rookie and being thrown against Richard Sherman. I think Caroo is going to compete.

He will only get better. Great experience for him going against Sherman all game and seeing the real deal.

Good for him to experience now in case he is in and out of the lineup due to DVP's up and down availability. Might pay off later in the year.

Carroo will probably be the best blocking WR in the NFL within a year or so.

I know its not flashy, but it will break a lot of ball carriers free on our offense.

I like hearing that Sherman said that too him. Very classy.

On that third down catch he got it past the sticks and went through the defense dragging about four of them for 3 yards further. For a receiver, that's pretty awesome.

I like classy Sherman way better than when he goes completely off the rails in the other direction. However, Carroo did play like a man out there and not some rook. I'd like to see him push through the rookie wall this year and really contribute.

We have, but the idiot keeps skipping his breakfast and always getting injured. Glass body.

I was impressed with the effort to fight for extra yardage, but more impressed with the fact that 2 hands went onto the ball immediately giving them no chance to rip the ball away as he fought.

You mean that one time after the Seahawks won the NFC Title?

Nice to hear after reading all the panic from the "rush to judgement" and "short attention spanners" on here.....ready to call a rookie wideout a bust because his numbers weren't huge in pre-season.

He is a talented..... physically unique player.... who can rpotentially eally help us get to a better place.
