Miami Football bores me: But Who's more to blame - Dolphins or the NFL?

I'd have to agree with the OP.

I too have lost interest after being an avid NFL fan for close to 40 years.

No NFL ticket for me this year, I'm not making those greedy *******s any richer.

I love watching defense and the product the NFL as whole is putting up is garbage.
Nobody can seem tackle and the offensive scores are just way too easy anymore. Except for the Fins. LOL

Why even keep seasonal stats when they change the rules every year to allow for more scoring.

30 TD passes in 1980 now equals 50 TD passes in 2011.

A couple of weeks ago i took my wife for a motorcycle ride rather than watching the Fins lose another game.

I still follow them and may post here and there while I'm getting paid at work. But the days of wasting my personal time with this carppy product are over for me.

One of my buddies on the way to work said the other day that Marino was increadible.
I added that he was like Jordan......If Jordan was in the NBA today, he would be UNSTOPPABLE,
Marino would thrive in today's NFL.

If I wanted Arena football I'd pay for it. I want the my NFL back.

Dan the Man was incredible.
It was a pleasure to watch him work. God I miss those days.

You be safe at work and watch out for those shanks.

i have found this to be true of the NFL for a few years now.. i enjoy the college game more. There have been some pretty good NFL games this year.. i think for me, its the pace of the games.. college seems to be more carefree and wide open, whereas the pro game just gets tedious and slow to me at times..

Can't say goodbye for good huh?

Not watching the Dolphins play doesn't make you much less of a fan, especially this year. They're miserable, hard to watch, but god damned if I'm not still a Phins fan. I'm excited to watch em grow as I am following more closely than ever. Another point about the NFL, in general I think the effects of the changed hit rules are over-hyped and frankly not that big of a deal. Quarterbacks deserve protection because in reality the game's a lot more exciting when you have first string QBs playing a full year. Why not protect the most valuable asset to the game? You wanna let em take hits and get injured? What really annoys me are poorly thrown holding flags.

There's a giant divide between the quality of football the Dolphins play and the majority of the rest of the league. I really used to not give a damn about any team except the Dolphins and nothing was as enjoyable to me to watch. But that's no longer the case. Watching Green Bay, Saints, Patsies, Detroit, hell just about anyone.. it's almost like watching another sport and an infinitely more exciting one.

Pathetic! This thread is PATHETIC! How can you call yourself a true Dolphins fan, wait, you clearly aren't a true Dolphins fan, a true fan would never turn off the TV in the third quarter. I have couldn't stop watching the Dolphins no matter how painful it is, and it is painful. I was at the Dolphins Patriots Monday night game last year, we lost 41-14...But I sat there through all of it. As I sat there and watched the stadium empty out I was shocked at how people just left, gave up, I don't agree with that.

The reason for this thread is all about losing IT as a true Dolphins fan. Many of us are starting to get there too. I am close, because if Mangini or Edwards are brought in as coach, I am out too. That will be the straw that breaks the camels back.

Most of the time they are meant for other offenders. Staff
just happens to be in the way of "business" sometimes.

We've had exit interviews when the guy that stabbed another inamate
appoligized to the boss he cut. "Sorry boss. I didn't mean to cut you. I was
trying to kill ________" It's matter of fact, but it's a mea culpa all the same.

It's a strange world.

Glad you have the time & stomach for it...My time is VALUABLE and Ross needs to send me a check if he expects me to "suffer thru the pain" as you say.

35 year fan...Caught a glimpse of Zonk & the no name D play with pride...Rode the Marino wave...been patient thru the 00's...Will care again when the franchise decides enough is enough.

I hear ya brother, I hear ya. 46 years here, and 10 of the last 11 have been hard to be a fan.

be thankful you got to enjoy the glory days of the fins, you got to witness all the years of greatness by dan marino, the times when we were upset with just making the playoffs and not getting far, etc.

all i have witnessed as a fan so far is pain, pain, pain, and pain. our star player retiring on us before camp, losing season after losing season, 1-15, 17 different starting qbs, 5 different head coaches, etc.

i understand that everything i listed above has been painful for every fin fan, and understandably, but just be thankful you know what it feels like to see a winning team, a team play with pride and passion. i have only seen one side of the dolphins so far in my lifetime, and that is the losing side.

Not to wage age-warfare but i agree with above lol.

Sure this is hard for all of us, but us folks who havent seen the Dolphins be a legit Superbowl contender in our lifetime...its been hell.

It's not age warfare. It's simply that those of us that have been around for a minute and wore the
Sears catalouge uniform are fans since we could crawl.

Never ****ing accuse ME of being less....Especially if YOU are like 20 some..Get the **** off my lawn.

The Dolphins have been a miserable offensive product since the Wanny years, at times they have been unwatchable. What has kept us going thru those years is the prideful play of our defense, who worked hard to keep us in most games. That is gone now as well, which makes this Dolphins team unwatchable at times because the quality of football they play is not NFL caliber. I too shut the game off in early 4th quarter because the play was nauseating. Watching those under-conditioned fat *** lineman stand straight up and get pushed around on both sides of the ball was embarrasing.

I think the salary cap has forced teams to choose which side of the ball to put the money on. Offense is more exciting to most fans so most of the money seems to go here. There are teams like Baltimore who still believe in a dominant defense, and I have watched some of their games to get my hard hitting, defensive fix. The Packers play a nice balanced game, watch them if you want to see quality football. There is some good quality ball being played at the NFL level, it is just NOT being played in Miami!

wow dude, who accused you of being less of a fan?

we were just saying that the people who are 20-21 like myself have not experienced anything but terrible fins football. the people like yourself are fortunate enough to have experienced glory days as well.

no one ever said that people like yourself are less of a fan. its tough times for every single fin fan now. no matter what age. what he was saying is that for the younger fans we never have experienced the feeling of winning.

I did not mean sweeping accusations. There is an issue when I'm 45 and some D bag decides to tell me what being a fan is all about. That angers me like nothing else. I've suffered and I've gloried....Man, I love this team.

It makes my heart sick.
