Just one man's opinion.

He doesn't value Howard at 38. Problem is people are looking at their "Best Available" while Miami has a completely different "board" based on their scheme and how these players tested/interviewed with them during their individual workouts. I will say I would of rather Howard at 42, but there is speculation that another press man team like Chicago, who was ahead of us, take him . . . and Chicago, after we took him, traded down and drafted a similar style CB in round 4.

I think the Carroo compensation is being overblown. People keep saying we gave up valuable assets in the next draft. We had already used our 3rd rounder on Drake. So we traded our 2017 third to get a 2016 third. Being that trading next years picks usually devalue the pick by a round . . . instead of giving up the 2017 second (which would equal a 2016 third) . . . we gave up a conditional 4th (which could be pick 135 or so if we get that comp pick for Lamar) and a 6th in 2016. That is not blowing away valuable assets, especially when Miami feels it got a player that is well worth it and that some had going in round 2.

Plus with us being projected to gain a 3rd/4th/7th in compensatory's for 2017 . . . it made the move more possible.

Must be grading us on what THEY thought our needs are and THEIR opinion of the players available....we will see my friends...I believe we have a solid plan in place and will surprise some early...come together in the middle....and win big games at the end....we are winning this year

Our draft was a bit lacking in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, it could have been way worse but we passed on so many Guards and Inside Linebackers that it makes me wonder what they plan going forward.

The only pick I didn't like all that much was Drake. Not that he's a bad FB player. Just that what he will provide for us could have been had later. We could have used that pick on Carroo, and saved the 2017 picks, and still had a very similar roster. I completely understand the Howard pick. He was the best scheme fit for us at CB. And it looks like the Bears were going to take him, so if you wanted Howard, you had to jump them.

It's amazing how many teams get A's for these drafts. Yet, year after year, they finish they season as they always have.

Once they drafted Tunsil they need at guard went away. Tunsil is the guard next year and the #1 player in the entire draft. No further guards were needed

I have a sneaky suspicion that GASE has ideas up his sleeve that other folks can't even begin to fathom, partly in how to get the best out of Tanny and partly how to create matchup nightmares for other AFC East defenses. I see his fingerprints all over this draft, and if he and his coaches are happy with the current results, then I am too. Here's PFF's grade:

They gave out 2 A's, 4 A-'s (of which the Dolphins are included), and the rest of the teams are between B+ and D. It's a pretty good read.

Let's see in three years how this draft class plays out. And let's also keep in mind that how well this draft class performs this year also depends a lot on how quickly they all sign. The last thing we need are training camp holdouts which, thankfully, are far and few in between thanks to the rookie pay scale.

Well it depends on what you are rating, honestly. If you are rating talent acquisition, we did fairly well. I rate Tunsil and Howard very highly. Drake and Caroo are also decent talents. There are flashes of ability in some of the other picks as well. So on talent acquisition alone, we did fairly well.

But if you're talking about building a football team, it failed to address a lot of key holes. Our holes before free agency were RG, LG, Backup LT, CB, LB, RB. After free agency we filled only the Backup LT position. In the draft we filled the CB position a round later than most would have liked. We did NOT fill the RG position at all, we filled the LG position with a poor fit guy who is an elite LT and clearly not playing LG for more than 1 year. We did not get a backup LT or C. Our LB corps' only upgrade is the talented but oft-injured Kiko Alonso so we didn't address it in the draft at all. Our nickel CB wasn't addressed. Only our RB and CB positions were really filled.

Tannehill was the most sacked QB his rookie season. Tannehill was the most sacked QB through his first two seasons. Tannehill was the most sacked QB through his first three seasons. Tannehill was the most sacked QB through his first four seasons. And with this draft ... he is in very real danger of being the most sacked QB through his first 5 seasons. It's a broken record. How the hell does our revolving front office not see this. Replacing Albert with Tunsil is at best a 1 year stop-gap for the LG position. FIX THE DANG OFFENSIVE LINE ALREADY!!!!!

Exactly. Tunsil is a Day 1 starter, we signed Bushrod and Urbik as free agents and we have two young players to develop in Turner and Douglas. There was no need following Day 1

Grading the Tunsil pick as anything besides an A+ is pretty silly. He talks of value in the second and third but his concerns with a guy that smoked weed outweigh the value of that pick. Though I am one that favors holding or trading down, I think the talent brought in was good and finally we're seeing guys that fit the scheme they are running.

The Guy gave us a B for the first rd. with the Tunsil pick.....

Disqualifies him to me, not that I take much out of these grading....

I'll be honest, I don't know a lot about the guys we got so I'm not going to be too critical until I see them play in our system. However, I did expect a defensive heavy draft to give us depth but we only took two defensive players. If I were to grade on that alone, I'd give us a bad grade. I also don't scout players for a living, so I'll grade the draft in a few years.
