I don't wish to create another bash Tannehill thread but it's worth considering this point.

Miami has tied itself to Tannehill with his contract but even his biggest fan couldn't say he's looking worthy of it right now. Maybe it's the line's fault, maybe it's the lack of run game, whatever......but Miami has tied itself to the man.

Now, clearly changes in the coaching are coming. When it comes to finding a new HC, Miami is yet again going to be looking for somebody prepared to go with RT. That yet again, rules out top guys. No HC with big expectations is going to be prepared to accept a role based on a key position like QB being forced upon them.

Huge dilemma that will likely keep us irrelevant for a while yet. It needs a full house clean, but RT's contract means that's impossible.

The cap is messed up, the roster us messed up, full rebuild for the next 5 years.

Theres coaches who would roll with tannehill, this whole team is a mess its almost ALMOST comical

i know you probably dont wanna hear it from a jets fan, but i said ti when it happened but the suh contract was worse. paying a non-qb elite franchise qb money is usually a bad move

Look, like it or not he's our QB for at least another 3 or 4 years so everyone might as well get used to it. I do like tannehill but **** his deep ball sucked today. With those PI calls it seemed the balks would have been overthrown anyways even if the WR wasn't being held. Also his fade sucks but I'm sure some of that is because of the pressure

Every problem is magnified when you don't have a HC.
I'm not going to over analyze until there is competent coaching

Tannehill's contract isn't all that difficult to get out of. I think the Dolphins are tied to him more because they've marketed him as the face franchise.

Regardless of what you think of the man he signed a very team friendly contract given what his peers were getting at the time.

Signing Tannehill was a HUGE mistake. Of course I predicted that and was bashed for it.

Nevertheless, I think his contract is still not so big that we can not shed him. If we bench him now, some moronic GM might be willing to trade a mid round pick and take a chance on him in the offseason. We could maybe sell a GM on Tannehill still having potential and that we benched him to protect him for the future. We could say we are only parting with him because we have the top draft pick and want Goff. We could hire one of these Tannehomers on FH to put together a power point presentation that shows why it was all the OL's fault. Maybe we can get a 5th for him. I am not sure of the contract, but I hope it is just workable enough to trade. Suh's contract for instance, would be impossible to trade because of how it impacts the cap.

Or we could just eat the money next year and keep Tannehill buried on the depth chart. If we draft a QB, their contract will not be horrible and together the contracts would equal one fat contract for the QB spot. It would be around the same as actually paying a good QB.

The last option is to trade for Incognito and let him bully Tannehill into quitting, which hopefully could negate the contract.

The team is in utter disarray. We got our one win, so now we don't have to worry about going 0-16. No need to worry. :)
