Miami Herald: Arrington/Miami has sticker shock

Good to hear. I always felt that the money should be spent on other positions. Drop down in the draft to pick up some extra picks and draft Greenway in the first. Use the available FA money on the signing a FS/SS, RT-Ashworth, QB-Maddox, RB-Morris (re-sign)and K-Vanderjagt.

Offense
QB-Culpepper, Maddox
RB-Brown, Morris, Minor
FB-Barnes
WR-Chambers, Welker
WR-Booker, Campbell
TE-McMichael, Pelle
LT-Shelton, Alabi
LG-James, Smith
C-Hadnot, McKinney
RG-Carey
RT-Ashworth

Defense
LE-Carter, Roth
NT-Traylor, Wright
DT-Holiday, Zgonia, Vickerson
RE-Taylor, Bowens
SLB-Greenway, Hodge, Spragan
MLB-Thomas, Pope
WLB-Crowder, Moore
LCB-Allen, Daniels, Goodman
RCB-Poole, Hill, Jackson
SS-FA, Tillman
FS-Bell, FA

Special Teams
K-Vanderjagt
P-Jones
LS-Denney

vanderjact signed, and for secondary id rather see daniels playing and you forgot about hill he could play safety, he knows how to tackle

i like the drafting of chad greenway but lets wait and see who falls for defense

If the Fins aren't going to sign Lavar there is absolutely no point in spending money on mediocre players if you have to re-structure to open up that room. Sign Sam Adams to a two year deal and I guess Tommy Maddox and that's the off-season...

This is such bull**** because first of all it was a 7/53-54m deal not a 6 year/55.

Everybody needs to chill. just give it a couple of days and see how it unfolds. I think Arringtons injuries and disciplinary problems will keep him from getting a J.P. deal but he could get something close. We could just draft a LB and move on from there. Not imperative to acquire him.:dolphins:

Chambers makes a bold prediction

LB STICKER SHOCK?

The Dolphins and the agent for former Pro Bowl linebacker LaVar Arrington haven't talked about a contract since Monday, and sticker shock may be the reason.

Agent Kevin Poston said Wednesday he last spoke with the Dolphins to tell them of linebacker Julian Peterson's imminent signing with Seattle. Poston, who represents both players, believes the Peterson contract set the market at the position, so he hopes Arrington will get an a similar offer.

Peterson signed a six-year, $55 million deal that included an $11.8 million signing bonus.

''Some teams were saying they had Julian ranked No. 1 [among free agent linebackers] and LaVar ranked No. 2,'' Poston said. ``Others said LaVar was first and Peterson next.''

An NFL source said Wednesday that Miami is unlikely to reach that high a price tag to acquire Arrington, thus the lull in talks.

It doesn't look too good for us if Arrington and Poston are looking for that much money. Too bad.
Thank god for poston and lavars greed arrington is overrated and an underachiever he gets beat on the pass to much, bites on the run to quickly, and is easily taken out of the short pass game with short slants watch the film theres a reason why gibbs let him go and the money he repayed wasnt enough!
