The Miami Dolphins just became a different team with news coming in that Chad Pennington is done for the season. While I would not expect Dan Henning to put a large load on Chad Henne's arm, I do expect to see longer range passing form our Dolphins. I look for them to keep pounding the rock both out of our wildcat formation as well as the conventional formations. We dont want to come out like gang busters with our new starting QB. Lets get our running game going early and gradually work Henne in. Lets build his confidence. Also, I would look for Pat White to get more snaps as well.
On the defensive side of the ball, I would like to see Gibril Wilson benched, and lets give Clemmons a shot. That way the trifecta will know what we have going into the offseason, thus opening up some cap room (if therre is a cap) by getting rid of Wilson's huge contract. I look for us to blitz Trent Edwards a lot this weekend. We need to rattle him and get him throwing off his heels.
Buffalo has a busted up secondary, so I look for Henne to test them out with some intermediate to long passes down the field. Its time for us to start the season over. Lets just give Henne the benefit of the doubt until he proves to us that he cannot handle the heat. I think the guy can be a very good QB in the NFL, so lets just give him a chance. I for one just became a Chad Henne fan, lets rally behind him like I know our team will and ride that Henne train. GO DOLPHINS.

I agree on your assessment. Will be interesting and exciting to see what Henne brings to the table. We know that the Bills will relentlessly blitz to try and rattle Henne so we better bring in a veteran qb asap just in case things get ugly

I agree. Which is why our O line needs to get it together NOW!!!!

How sweet would it be to see Henne zip a couple of nice deep passes to keep the defense honest and take some pressure off our oline and running backs. It has been a long time since Miami has had a balanced attack(Marino,no run;Ricky williams, no pass)on offense.

I did. It sounds like a football hitting the turf.

look what Ronnie and Ricky can do with no threat of a deep ball, no with the threat of it i expect them to pick up bigger chunks of yardage per run...

What about Bess or Hartline? Both of them can go deep

Bess deep?? Bess is not, and never will be a deep threat. He has great quickness that will allow you to throw it short and let him take it deep but he will never be a deep threat.

Ginn is our best deep threat, if only he was a threat to catch the ball we would be cooking with gas, as it is, Ronnie and Ricky are probably our best two deep threats.

I actually want them to blitz us (becareful what you wish for), but that is only because I trust the OL. The OL has picked up their play from that first game stinker and I think they have begun to really gel together.

I would rather have Henne throwing into a D that only has five or six defenders, rather than him trying to froce it into a D that is dropping seven or even eight. That is just the way I feel right now. Hopefully with time he can progress, but what I saw from the San Diego game, he had trouble finding open WRs when the chargers dropped 7 (and that is what led to the pick 6).

I agree with the QB thing, and slightly with the Wilson thing. Crowder is not helping Wilson though with his inability to cover the TE. Wilson has to keep one eye on the deep guy and one guy on the TE who is breaking open 15 yards down the field. This does not excuse his tackleing though!
