Rumors here in Boston are that the Pats are in talks to bring Steven Jackson to New England. It was reported by WEEI radio here in Bosotn. It would be for Adalius Thomas and picks. Just a rumor now but something to keep our eyes on. Waiting for more info and some links. I will keep you posted.

We will need to counter if this is true.

New England never runs the ball anyway, why would they want a running back?

Well there are plenty of rumors going down right now. I mean Bowe to Miami, Bowe & Glen Dorsey to Miami, Steve Smith to Miami, Cribbs to Miami, Ginn out of Miami & Roth out of Miam.

i realize its one of many rumors going around. just thought yall would like to know what is being said behind enemy lines

if the pats get jackson thats a joke. They would lose the best athelete and pass rusher on their D but they better give a 2nd round pick atleast also. They will be very hard to beat if they get jackson. Funny thing is it always seems like the Pats make 'that' trade and we were 'close' to a trade or 'should' of made one but didnt. Not saying we really need to waste picks but if a proven talent is out there and its not costing our draft or team much, go make something happen.

I read the Rams were up against the cap and moving Jackson would accelerate his cap figure to the point that he was literally untradeable this year.

What's happening right now, especially between the Patsies and Fins...is classic "wait 'em out" trading.

Miami clearly does not want to trade. We're a draft 'em in team. Still, I guarantee that the FO is in talks, just in case.

It all depends on what NE does. If NE does nothing, Miami will do nothing.

Most of the rumors are from fans, who want more! There are some media outlets that are throwing stuff against the wall in hopes of a scoop but Sparano said he's happy with his roster. Most of the guy's names being tossed around ( Bowe & Smith)are going to be too expensive in draft choices for this regime.

it would make sensse bc he is great at receiving and Belly said a few weeks ago they need to start running the ball more.

I don't know exactly what picks they have except that they're overloaded with them, like always; especially with that 1st rounder they get from Oakland so I think they have the artillery to pull something off.

I'd disagree; looks like the jest head tarde may be talking up a storm but in reality isn't making much of a difference.

Pats keep cutting players

Posted by Mike Florio on October 20, 2009 11:38 AM ET
On Monday, linebacker Tully Banta-Cain was bounced. Earlier today, receiver Joey Galloway got a shoe in caboose, too.

And now word has emerged of two more cuts by the Patriots.

Via the franchise's official Twitter feed, tight end Michael Matthews has been cut. Also, Albert Breer of Sporting News reports that linebacker Eric Alexander has been released.

Matthews will be required to pass through waivers; Alexander, a vested veteran, becomes an unrestricted free agent.

Breer suggests that Alexander will be quickly re-signed.
