hey there,

which would you say is miami's best daily newspaper, both in regard to fins coverage AND general (political and cultural) coverage?

i know of the herald, the sun sentinel, and the palm beach post - are they any good? are there better newspapers available in miami? i'm reading the boston globe, the new york times, and the washington post, and am looking for a newspaper from miami or florida of similar quality...

thank you! :bighug:

The Herald is a rag. Sunsentinel is not much better. But not much more of a choice.
I get all my dolphin coverage on the web, Finheaven, phins.com news wire, and web versions of the above papers.

I get crazy reading the negative crap from all three of those rags. Compared to newpapers from other NFL cities the abuse the Dolphins take from their hometown papers makes you wonder why anyone would want to play or coach there. The "reader response forums" are just a way for Wayne Haters, Jets fans, and idiots to vent the most ridiculous things you have ever heard.

FINHAVEN IS the best coverage, with all the newspaper coverage and our commentary here. Kudos to the guys that run this site. E

I enjoy all 3 for dolphins coverage online....however, in terms of other news in those papers....I wouldn't know. I seem to be drawn to checkin out the PBP usually

I like the Palm Beach best as well, the Sun Sentinel next.

The Herald Sports section is for the American Idol fans...:D

Those guys deliberatley write shallow mindless drivel to be provocative. They aim to annoy and TRY to create controversy because none of them are really into football...

I dont live in Florida, but I check Dolphins news on those papers online daily. The Herald is garbage, I'm quite positive Salguero hates the Dolphins even if he wont admit it. PBP is pretty good, the Sun-Sentinel is my personal favorite, depending on whose writing the column.

I agree that Finheaven is your best bet. If its newsworthy, its posted here. But I find the Sun-Sentinel is best for breaking stories. They tend to get the scoop, with Skolnick and Fialkov. I like the PBP's blog. The Herald is probably my least favorite, only because it hasnt been the same since Jason Cole left. Darlington is pretty half *** with the Q&A as well. Also, as some have noted, they can be a wee bit negative, especially the columnists like Cote, Neal and LeBatard.

Overall,

1. Finheaven
2. Sun-Sentinel
3. PBP
4. Miami Herald

Hope this helps.
