Detroit's demands for third- and fourth-round draft picks are holding up the trade of quarterback Joey Harrington.

Miami, which has reached agreement on a two-year deal worth $5 million, is offering only a sixth-round pick in 2007 to the Lions.

The Bengals, who are offering a sixth this season, have offered Harrington a one-year deal worth about $2 million.

I would rather give them a 7th this year, isnt that about the same value?
Edit-And neither is greater than the Bengals offer. Maybe we could get him with a 7 this year and a 6th next but I dont know that I would want to give up 2 picks for him. Especially when he will only be signing a 2 year deal.

like the John Abraham deal, Harrington will dictate where he goes

they should give us all of their picks to get him here, he deserves none of our picks... :sidelol:

I'm gonna be a FA in June, call me!!!!!

Offer a seventh this year and next year's 6th and call it a day.

2 picks for Harrington??? are you kidding??? he's trash, garbage, rubble, worthless, pittiful, pathetic, down right horrible why does anyone want him???

That is a story from a Cincy newspaper, so I'm not so sure how reliable that may be. But if Det. is holding out for a 3 or 4th round pick, well then we will see you when you decide to cut him before his bonus comes due, as you'll never get anything close to that. They should take what they can get now before teams grab someone else and they are stuck with him and his high salary.

He's only worth 1 pick to me. Millen is an idiot. If he keeps the price at a 3rd or 4th rounder noone will bite and he'll have to release Joey in June and he won't even get another pick to use on a overrated WR

Would be tough to give up 2 picks for him. But to make up the difference from our highest 7th (from GB, #212) to the Bengals 6th (#193) would have to put up one of our other 7ths (#226 or Chi #233) or next year's 6th. Still unlikely to happen as Bengals also have 2 better 7th rounders (#209 & #231). And if they get desperate enough could outbid us with a 5th rounder. Alot for Bengals to pay for a one year QB, but need a guy to cover Palmer's playoff knee injury as much if not more than Culpeppers game 7 knee injury.
