Adam Sheffner just reported on the NFL network that the Dolphins interest in Culpepper is only "lukewarm".
I think Saban would rather NOT give up a pick, or gamble that he can get that price lowered. It's a dangerous game with the Raiders holding that #3 out there...
Not to mention the signing bonus that he's due this week... Maybe we can get him for nothing but a new deal..

I see that the Brees lovers have Sabans approval, however, the Saints are dangling all the cheese...

It's going to be a very interesting day, that will turn into a restless week.. It might not pop off untill like Wednesday at this rate.. Maybe later..

So much fun.. Can we just get a QB and T.O. please? Thanks..

Culpepper will throw for 5 TDs one game, then follow it up with 3 INTs and 2 fumbles.

Not consistent enough, in my opinion.

I'm thinking the same thing even though i would prefer Drew, but i think the saints will overpay Drew and that will be the reason saban snags Culpepper.


But this is just My opinion :wink:
 
it doesnt really matter to me which one we get...

side note - i remember hearing a quote from Bryant McKinnie...."I only wanna play LT for the team that has Culpepper" or something like that if thats the case then i wouldnt mind getting the 2 for one deal

What i dont get is why we sign a LT when we have Alabi to play at LT and Carey at RT.

Im not sure we can get an Arrington or Peterson now.
 
The Vikes are thinking that they have leverage over us, because we're not offering as much as New Orleans for Brees, and if Brees chooses New Orleans we HAVE to get Daunte.

But, the reality if that we only HAVE to make sure we're bidding as much as any other team is for Daunte's services, because we KNOW that the Vikings will not keep him past March 17th, the day the bonus is due. The longer Brees takes in his decision, the more pressure Minnesota will feel because they haven't even given anyone permission to give Daunte a physical yet or speak with his doctors...and they will need to do that by at least March 15th or 16th to ensure a trade happening before the 17th.

Today is March 13th. If Brees waits on into tomorrow to decide, or decides to tour with another team, then the Vikings will REALLY be sweating because if they don't agree to allow a team to examine him on the 15th then Daunte is as good as cut and the Vikes can kiss all compensation goodbye.

Alabi is a project - he was a late rd pick for a reason. LJ got a 3.5 mil signing bonus which means it's not a big cap hit if he gets cut in a yr or two. LJ is HUGE - those are 2 big book ends at tackle.

Brees' agent said on the radio this morning that he think a decision will be made later this afternoon or tomorrow....
