Miami's 5 losses this season.....

8-0 Indy'
8-0 New Orleans'
6-2 Patriots'
5-3 Chargers'
5-3 Atlanta'

32-8 combined...... average record of team defeating us? 8-2.

LOL!! all playoff teams.... 2 teams undefeated... and we were literally A CATCH AWAY from beating Indy.. 1 CATCH AWAY FROM BEATING 8-0 INDY.

3 wins:
4-4 Jets
4-4 Jets
3-5 Bills

Total combined record of Miami's opponents = 43-21... average record played against this season? 11-5 (wow)

We made the Jets 4-4 instead of 6-2 or possibly 5-3.... remember the Jets almost beat the Saints too.

Miami is MUCH better than their 3-5 record shows, this is one of the cases where record really doesn't mean crap, we've played nothing but elite teams and completely beat up on the one not so good team we played (bills). This is all with a 2year QB and 2 rookie corners... I think this week vs TB we will see if Miami is as good as I think, we should win by 13+

We also have the easiest schedule the rest of the way, while the Pats and Jets have the hardest. So time will tell how it pans out and hopefully our superior divisional record will be the difference in the end.

Our schedule had a crazy hard stretch through the first half of the season. I can't remember ever seeing something like that. Let's hope we can gain some toughness from it and be a tough team to beat come to second half of the season.

We'll see what this miami dolphins team can do in the next 3 weeks... i don't expect less than 3 wins if they are who i think they are

Pretty predictable before the season began our schedule was going to be challenging. I know there are a lot of fans on finheaven that think the schedule doesn't have anything to do with a team's play and record.

Personally, I think those people are absolutely clueless. 32-8 record for the teams we lost to and 43-21 record overall is incredible. That we have been competitive and had a couple of players not even stepped up, but simply done their job we would have a winning record right now...impressive.

exactly.... we've lost to nothing but playoff teams. We swept the 4-4 Jets, and absolutely buried the 3-5 bills...

This week vs TB will show a lot, we should win the game running away if we're as good as I think we are.

at least dominate the game, if not the scoreboard, but I expect Miami to dominate both... all this with a 2year QB and 2 rookie corners, is really REALLY good... not to mention all the dropped passes (1 of which was literally a game-winning catch.)

Phintastic13 is right there are a lot of people that think schedule has nothing to do with it, and those people are insane.. we've lost to nothing but ELITE teams this year, and we were very close to beating both 8-0 teams!!!!

Miami wins by 13+ this week if we're as good as I believe.. we'll see on sunday...

We should have beaten 3 of the teams we lost to.. Tedd Ginn Jr. dropped all 3 of those games.. Are you like me, kind of bitter sweet on seeing him get HOF accolades, for only winning one game, while dropping 3? I might be a bit harsh, but if he starts catching the ball, and maybe even grow a pair, he'll be fantastic.

Do u really wanna go to the playoffs with Cammarillo, Hartline, Bess, and Ginn? Like Do u think we really have a shot? OH. Let's not forget Fassano's butter fingers this year as well.. I like Haynos way better right about now.. I'm sorry.. I'm ranting.. We are under achieving as a total team, I do believe that.. But for us to have a shot to get, and suceed in the playoffs, we need for our #1 to be a #1.. and a pass rush would be nice too.

We were also one catch a way from beating new orleans if ted ginn catches the ball, instead of handing it to sharper we most likely win that game too.

Don’t get to overconfident guys, Tampa and Tenn. have been showing signs of life the last few weeks.

Goes to prove we are not good enough to beat the elites, but the good thing is we were in it in all those ball games. So we are close and will get better this offseason. We are on the upswing folks dont let our record let you think otherwise.
A few more years and let the good times roll!!!

I'm not following your math on the average records for the teams we've played. How is the average record of teams we lost to 8-2 when we are 8 games into the season??? I'm getting more like 6-2 (actually 6.4-1.6 to be exact). The average record of all teams we've played should be closer to 5-3.

Thats all nice and good, but the reality is youve got to be able to beat some of these teams. While this indicates that yes, we certainly are better than a 3-5 team, the reality is we simply arent better than a playoff team yet. And to be in the position we want to be in, we have to be better than playoff caliber teams.

Here's the reality................

We beat teams we are supposed to beat. Which is great. A good team will do that. Its great that this team is learning how to win. Thats exactly why I was in favor going back to Feb of 08 of bringing in Pennington. Chad Pennington will not get you beat in games that your team plays well enough to win. That is crucial for young players to learn to win.

So while we beat the teams we play that are avg or bad teams(8 win or worse teams) we just cant beat the good teams yet. We have come close, yes. We shouldve beaten both Indy and the Saints. Huge coaching blunders cost us those games along with the inability to stop the big play on defense. But, the fact remains that we didnt. We just arent good enough as a team yet to get over the hump and beat these good teams.

Go back to last season even. Look at the teams that beat us.......Good teams. The Jets early in the year, the Cards went to the bowl, New England beat us once, Baltimore kicked our ***. You get the point. We beat the teams we are supposed to and lose when we play solid teams.

Now, while this does give us a shot to get to 9-5 going into the last two weeks this year if we can beat the Patsies at home and a tough road test on a short week vs the Panthers, two very winnable games for us btw, then we will give ourselves a chance. But, even if we do accomplish this and somehow get in at 10 or 11 wins, could we really make a run this year to the title....no.

But, the good news is we are CLOSE. We are getting there. Were just a few plays away from being able to beat these teams and it has been shown. We need some WRs and LBs. Once our secondary matures, we will be gold there too.

And its comforting to know that once we get to the point where we beat a top level team 4 out of 5 times or so, then we know we can put together a 13 or 14 win season and make a run at a title, because this team proves over and over that they simply dont lose to inferior teams. Thank you Chad Pennington.
