Can we please just release Fales and sign a player who can at least contribute on special teams? There are other positions where we are short on depth.

You cut a young good depth defender for a veteran on an off roster OL.

That's only if you believe Minkah is only slot. I'm 100% positive if there's an injury. Minkah plays at safety before Aikens

Again just because Smith is off the roster today doesn't mean he won't be on it tomorrow or next week. Still a lot of juggling going on. I wouldn't stress about the roster until the juggling stops.
If Aikens has to play on D....

I doubt Smith is that sought after by other teams, and if they do lose him there will be other safeties available.

He has to clear waivers next tuesday. If teams don’t think he’s a better option than one of their top 4 safeties in their 53 I got news for them he is.

Those pre season tapes were pretty damn good. Very solid. I hope other teams are sleeping
