Miami Dolphins, yards per carry..

Game 1 (vs NYJ): 2.9
Game 2 (vs Arizona): 3.0
Game 3 (vs New England): 6.0
Game 4 (vs San Diego): 4.2
Game 5 (vs Houston): 4.0
Game 6 (vs Baltimore): 3.2
Game 7 (vs Buffalo): 1.9
Game 8 (vs Denver): 2.6
Game 9 (vs Seattle): 5.7

The running game had a big spike in the New England game (6.0 yards/carry), where the wildcat surprised everyone in the league.

Since that game, our running game has slowly declined.

The Seattle game was the first time since the New England game where the Miami running game started to break out again.

Is the Miami running game finally back on track?

i hope so. the raiders are ranked 29th in run defense giving up 158 yds/game, at 4.6 yds/carry a CONSISTENT running attack next sunday will go a long way in making me have a more enjoyable afternoon.

I think the fact that we had very few runs coupled with the long Ricky TD blows this average up. Still believe the running game could and should be better especially down the road for the December games.

Yeah I would agree with that.

The most disappointing thing for me is that we seem incapable of closing out games on the ground. Having to pass when there is under three minutes left is not the ideal scenario. Its amazing how last year with an inferior O-Line and QB we managed to tear it up on the ground nearly every single game.

Its tought to run with 8-9 men in the box. If you get through the first level of players then there are no one left to make the tackle.
