Miami still 21 Mill under cap!

Tampa Bay has some money to burn,i wish we had that much cap space left after our FA signings.

? but we need $$$ we have potentially 2, 1st round picks a high 2nd and low second pick, hell now even the 3rd rounders want 2nd round money

isn't there a rookie cap? the most we can spend for all our picks is like 8 mil or there abouts. could be wrong about this

I was wondering about this too.. with so much extra cap room, we may be able to frontload the rookie contracts (especially the bigger ones) so that if they happen to bust (god forbid), they don't hurt our team as much as they normally would. Just a thought..

It will cost us around 10 million of that sign our picks.

If we are going to only spend about 2-3 million on FA's the rest of the year, and fill the rest out with rookies and draft picks, I'd like to see us restructure some contracts to give roster bonuses for this year etc. so all of that money goes against this year's cap and is not pushed into future years.

Signing bonuses etc. are spread out over the number of years of a contract, but certain types of bonuses are all counted for that one year. It's a great to sort of "carry over" cap space to the next year if we aren't going to use it all. They closed the loophole that the Eagles used years ago, but I believe this is still something available and legal to do.

Just thinking out loud here...
