Miami Told Edwards And His Agent That They Would Probably Draft Him

I just watched an ESPN special on Braylon Edwards leading upto and during the draft. At one point Miami indicated to his agent that they would probably draft him. Then during the draft they text message Edwards, giving him an indication that they would draft him. He got a little excited thinking that he was going to Miami only to find out that he was just a pawn in the business world of the NFL.

Miami was just trying to get Cleveland to sweeten its compensation in a trade. When they couldn't get what they wanted they turned back to Ronnie Brown.

He must have not received any offers from Cleveland. I would have accepted a 7th rounder just to go from 2 to 3 and still get Brown.
