Miami trading for Larry johnson?

A Johnson trade would be more for the future than this year. Sure hed get in there right away but how much can u expect of him coming from another team? Gotta learn the new offense, and all that entails. Look at Booker alot of u are mad he hasnt done anything but how long has he been with the team?(not too mention all the other offensive problems like oline and qb)
I agree. The Booker and Gordon trades will contribute more to the future then this season(well definitley Gordon since he is done for the year).

Not the Gordon trade, he is signed for 1 more year, who knows if he'll be here. We got him for now, not for the future. At least will LJ, he is signed for 3 more years after this year. He was a first round pick, like it or not, he was a first round pick, and has yet to be proven to be considered a bust. Especially when you are behind one of if not the best back in football. Why aren't we talking about Willis Mcgahee cry to play, crying for a trade.

With this line it doesn't really matter who runs. There is no hope without improvement up front.

Thinking out loud...
Firstly, we can't afford to lose a CB right now we are so depleted by injuries at that position early in the season, especially a former Pro Bowler in Madison. There are a dozen reasons trading him is bad, this is the biggest. My only fear is that KC is just as desperate as us, but on defense, so a crazy trade could possibly happen. Madison is an aggressive corner who is about 3 years past his (premature) prime, but still attacks the receiver at the line. He gives up the big play once and a while due to lost recovery speed, but only when the safety cheats/blitzes. He does his job very well still. You can't blame our D...they are on the field 2/3rds of the game and can't help but get tired at some point (game #2).
Trading anything for a RB is ridiculous at this point. Pick up a free agent out there and give him a couple carries up the middle. Find a guy who can catch out of the backfield and run screens well. Someone to support what we have now rather than be a featured back...Wanny & Co are dreaming if they'll find a player who can get more than 2yds/carry with our offensive line!
Fins run a ball-control offense. That's Wanny's philosophy, and it won't change because he doesn't know how to change. That's the extent of his vision. While that system works with a super D, a great RB, a good O-line and an avg QB...it doesn't work with 2 of those 4 parts.
My last thought is this...maybe Ricky knew how bad the O-Line was this year. He and Wade jawed a bit last year, he carries 400 times, and he drops a full yard per carry off his avg from the year before...then he gets to training camp and the new f*ckers won't even block an empty grocery cart. So he gives the team a few months to practice...nothing improves. Finally he smokes some chronic with Kravitz and Lenny says "You don't need to get a beating blood, come on tour with me and bang groupies every night."
I might have retired as well.

Lets trade for Ron Dayne. He is a vet looking to prove something, and his a big back like we need with the problems of the o line. He can make his on holes this is a better option imo

the cap hit we would take in trading him

Let alone trading him for a player who would be a rent-a-guy for a year

We will sign a FA RB in the offseason, there are SOOOO many available

PLUS LJ SUCKS! Man i saw him for 3 years at every penn state home game. ASK NUB! Hes another PSU fan. LJ's ONLY good games came in their 9-3 season when he put up 200 yards rushing against michigan state, northwestern, and other crap teams
Look when he played a decent team like OSU, Michigan, and Iowa! He put up gooseeggs and lost. He is the classic PSU RB. Great in college, not pro material.

madison said he would restructure and restructure and play nickel and take a paycut to stay here

he will retire here.
he has 3-4 years left in him. he will retire when this contract is done in 2007 I think...

Surtain will be traded before he will even though Pat is CLEARLY the better CB.
OK OK you've obviously put a lot of thought into this but we disagree about Madison, he's a punk and he has been since his first year. The sooner he's gone the better we'll be IMO. I haven't seen Johnson run that much and you may be right, but it's hard to believe that KC would commit a number one pick for him if he's a bust? I guess we've had a couple # 1 running RB picks bust ah. Peace

I thought Henry looked better than any other running back we have right now. Give'em a shot. Can't hurt at this point. And save the freakin picks Rick.
-Your right about Henry. His yards look terrible , but there was no blocking 80% of the time. When he had a chance , he didn't dance and tried to hit the hole.

No more trading of picks...

let's trade for picks...

Larry Johnson is not going to make the difference.
Just like Lamar Gordon was never going to...

Great job Rick!

I am sure that his defenders will pop up here.

Start henry and pickup Lamar Smith or some other FA for backup. Don't trade ANYONE!!!!

That is a damn good plan.

I would think about trading Arturo Freeman to the Chiefs for a second or third rounder. That pick could also be high, but Leonard Henry was one of the bright spots on that dark sunday. I also like the idea of picking up Lamar Smith. Is he available?

That guy is a tough runner. Love to have him back again. Let Gordon sit and learn the offense. He's still showing a little hesitency when he hits the hole.

make the trade for johnson give the a.freeman for johnson straight up do it now rick a good rb makes a good oline.

Wow.

Safety A. Freeman head up for RB Johnson would be a great move.
