Miami unlikely to match offer for Jones

He was a great punter, but in reality he wasn't an amazing punter. I mean sure I will miss him, but punter is a position where you can usually find someone good enough to get the job done laying around.

I do think he is worth more than a 7th rounder though, unless of course we drafted a better punter with that 7th rounder.

One of the posters on Yahoo Sports noted that if you click on the "Donnie Jones" hyperlink for his career stats, he is already listed as playing for the Rams. Looks like Yahoo Sports thinks its a done deal.

This really bothers me that Miami isn't going to try and keep this guy, he is a great punter and will continue to get better and Miami will just let him go for a friggin 7th round pick, I know draft picks are nice and all but how many 6th and 7th round picks does one team need.

We MIGHT find a diamond in the rough with the 7th(saints wr colston for instance)

Might. Might... How about sandspurs, animal feces, sand gnats, and spiders. That's what usually resides in the South Florida rough. We are speculating about a guy from Yahoo quoting Rosenhaus and I, for one, would rather have a competent and reliable kicker there than a 7th round pick from the Rams on a "Might!"

Just because a small percentage and I mean really small percentage of 7th round picks turn out good does not mean every seventh round pick will be good. This is a mistake but oh well.

punters are a dime a dozen, ill be plenty happy with a league minimum making rookie, or free agent scrap heap punter. we dont need to be paying someone 5 mil or whatever is it to punt. no thanks
