Dramatic improvements made along the OL, DL, Special Teams, run defense and overall depth will make this team vasertly improved from a year ago. IMO, we're at least a 5 win club. With average or better QB play, we could be .500 or better and therefore in playoff contention. Yep, that's how much this team improved from last years 1-15 team.

i agree.. but a .500 team does not have a chance to make the playoffs in the AFC.. u need to be at LEAST 10-6 and thats not even for sure (browns last year and we went 10-6 few years back and didnt make it).. so yeah i think we are much better.. but we need to be better than .500 to make the playoffs.. maybe 2010

well, we all feel our OL will preform better...
but our guard position is not solved yet..

our special team unit did improve

last season our DL was swiss cheese

I do think we're dramatically improved from last year, but I'm still really worried about our defense. I do like the way we've improved our offense though.

Miami when 10-6 two year in a row and miss the
playoff both years

the afc is beast

nfc and 8-8 season actually won a division title

while i agree that drastic improvements were made overall....i think that at best we'll go 6-10,and my reason for that is once again,a brand new system is going to be implemented on both sides of the ball for the players to learn and alot of new players having to learn to play together&gell in that new system, but as we all know,we'll see what happens.

Ofcourse my signature says what I think, but I'd like to add that I believe teams that scrap the former program and completely rebuild with lots of young players have a much better chance of showing significant improvement more quickly than teams that are a constant patchwork year in and year out.

It is easier to install a new program and positive atmosphere with a completely new roster and philosophy. The young players all have a real chance to contribute and take pride in building a winner from the foundation up.

Patchworks create friction and lack of cohesion.

I'm not sure about improvements on the o-line. One of the bigger problems was guys running through the middle and there is only so much Satele can do. Hopefully our unproven guards are a lot better than what was here last year.

Well it would appear we're vastly improved, but that's all it is right now. We could be 1-15, 2-14, 4-12 or we could be 9-7 this coming year. We really have no idea what the changes will bring. I think all we can do at this point is cross our fingers and hope we have luck on our side for the first time in a while and maybe we can be respectable in 08,JMO.

I could really care less about wins this year, to me its all about establishing our new identity and attitude, letting the rest of the league know what kind of team they will be playing in the future, also sending signals to future players that you wont be coming to miami anymore just to collect checks.

Mean, nasty, and tough football, thats all i wanna see.

We would have won at least 5 games last season if it weren't for all of the injuries. This season I expect at least 6 and wouldn't be shocked with 9 or more. Obviously the QB play is the biggest factor in the equation.

i think we have the talent to get 7 wins this year...our scheudle is very favorable..but the AFC is still tough.

Agreed, 10-6 is needed to makes the playoffs but if we're .500 or better in December, we'll be in the mix for a wildcard. That's what I'm saying.

I'll believe it when I see how Long and our new guards mesh with Carey and Satele.

I'll believe it when I see how well Ronnie and Ricky have recovered from there injuries.

I'll believe it when I see whichever of the three QB's who wins the job (and I believe it will be McCown to start) actually protect the ball.

I'll believe it when I see the defensive line stop the run.

I'll believe it when I see us forcing some three and outs.

I'll believe it when I see our special teams stopping opposing kick returners and helping our returners get some big gains.

In short, I'll believe it when I see it...

It wouldn't suprise me to be between 6-9 wins. We were so close in about 5 games last year. With better coaching we could/should have won 4-5 more games. I think we were much better then our record.
