Miami vs NE September 7th at 1PM

If we were ever going to get it them it would be this game. Expect us to be very vanilla in the preseason as to not give the Patriots any game film of note for the new offense. Where NE does their most damage is in preparation and playing them in week 1 with a new system going into place favors us. Having it a 1 pm and at home is bonus.

The rest of the schedule is tough but fair.

It's amazing how the Pats always win close games...like their 3 Superbowl wins...all by a field goal or less.

No playoffs this year. Not with that schedule and having philbin as our coach. I am not a philbin guy.

As I just said in the other thread, NE wont be able to study our offense before we meet being that they haven't seen Lazor's playbook. One of the strengths of the Pat has been game planning and their analysis of other teams. They wont have that advantage in the 1st half of the opener.

+1

I see another 7-9 season.

In 2011 we had a new OC too, BB killed us. He can study Philly's offense. It doesn't matter though, he will do something with the offense and Brady to throw our D off and chew us up.

It took everything we had to beat them last season (the team had nothing left for 2 weeks after that).

I just am not confident this team can beat the Patriots to start the season. My opinion of a Philbin as a gameday coach is not that high, so I don't expect much to open the season.

If we win? I'll be elated! I'm just not going to get myself hyped about it and fool myself into thinking this may be a 'changing of the guard' lol. People have been saying that for a decade, with the same results.

And Miami seems to lose their close games. I blame this on poor coaching, and the fact that they've pretty much concentrated on defense in the draft's early rounds for over a decade. It's hard to win games when your offense can't score or sustain drives consistently. Since 2000, the only offensive playmaker positions (QB, WR, TE, and RB) picked in the first round were Ted Ginn Jr, Ronnie Brown, and Ryan Tannehill... that's it!

I can see Miami crushing the Pats on Opening Day. But, true to form, they'll lose to almost every team that they "should" beat, and win a few that they shouldn't.

We are going to win, because it will be my first Dolphin, and NFL game, live. Can't wait. Bringing the girlfriend.

Love the idea of playing a division rival in the first and last games of the season. I wouldn't mind the first 3 and last 3 games being all division games.

Interesting match up. Miami's shinny new Lazor offense vs. the Patriots much improved defensive backfield. I predict we will either be raving about how brilliant Tannehill is after the game or ready to hang him. Obviously I am ruling out any reactions between those two.

Last season we took one gave and the Refs robbed us of another. If Jordan can play healthy we should win. Also, in 2011 we didn't have Tannehill, Finnegan (if can be his old self) Grimes. I think we are a better team without Dan Henning and Mike Sherman. I hope Lazor is a huge improvement. I see Tannehill connecting with Wallace for a 60+ yds bomb! We win 21-17

Exactly, It was third and 17 for the Pats and they called that phantom holding call on Dimitre Patterson, gave them an automatic first down and that bogus batting call on Vernon!!
