miami wants a center bad...BP that is.

So far BPs on record for being in love with 6 different positions and about 5 different players so far. Smoke screen anyone?

Look there is no smoke screen here. All during the season we heard of Miami discontent with Samson Satele. Right when our season ended the talk was we would target Jason Brown as a FA and I even went on to say that drafting Alex Mack or Max unger would not surprise me.

I know BP love OLB, but if guys like Birk, Saturday or Brown are not signed expect us to draft a C.

Satele's days are numbered at C

Oh, don't get me wrong. I absolutely believe this is the way we are going to go with probably 2A or 2B. I just meant that it's like every day there's another...BP loves this guy or that guy...Or this position, etc.

SOME of it is smoke.

Niether one will be available with our 2a pick so if they really want him we'd be taking one of them with our first or trading down a few spots and taking one there. If we can't sign J.Brown and I don't think he'll be available then I'd be estatic to draft A.Mack with our first.

Arizona, Pitts, Det, Buf, and Cinci are all teams minimum that will look for a Center.

whether we take a center or a guard in the draft, i have full faith in our FO's decision making. that 2A pick for taylor is huge, hopefully a key building block of our future team. there seems to be lots of OL buzz this year, especially in the interior. someone good will fall to us at 2A: mack, unger, robinson, johnson, wood... or someone else thats not fully on the radar. i would go 1. LB 2a. OL 2b. FS 3. CB/NT, but as long as we hit those positions in any order we will improv.

cant wait for FA to start so some of this will be cleared up for us. got about 17 days to wait, but at least the odds are good we will make some early deals (maybe not the strike of midnight type that almost got us in trouble last year though )

Just finished listening to A.Mack on Sirus and he sounds like a J.Long clone at Center. He eats, sleeps and poops football what a great kid, I really hope he's lining up for us come the season opener.

They told him he was the best Center against Raji at the Senior bowl that he really held his own. He responded by saying he doesn't look to hold his own, he wants to dominate his opponent.

I love listening to kids that aren't full of themselves, they just want to strap it on and punch you in the mouth. BP must love this kid and if he doesn't now he will after interviewing him.

Trouble?

There's no way in hell I would want Unger after watching him get manhandled all during the Senior Bowl practices. He's a high cut 6'5" 298 pounds and doesn't appear to be very strong as he was pushed around all over the place by big strong d-linemen. So there's no way he's an upgrade over Satele.

The flip side is that he may indeed 'love' certain players ... but that doesn't mean that we'll draft or sign them ...

I'm sorry, but I don't see where Bill Parcells said anything. Brandt is "assuming" that he will want a bigger man in the middle. Hell many on this board have assumed that even before the season began.

Samson is 6'3 and 300lbs

Mack is 6'4 and 312 lbs

Unger is 6'5 and 295 lbs

There is no GREAT different when I hear that Satele is too small, I just prefer him at guard because of his ability to pull and I think he would be great with one of our bookends on one side of him and a big time center like Jason Brown or even Alex Mack to the other side. But Satele could be Center for us, but IMO it is not ideal.

I noticed this, as well, and totally agree. No way is he worth a 1st Rd pick. IMO, he is far from being an upgrade over Satele. If we go with a center in Rd 1 it should be Mack. There will also be some decent center prospects in Rd. 2.
