Looks like Oakland made him their GM. Is Mayock well respected as a draft analysis? l don’t know how that translates to the nfl but he’ll have plenty of picks at his disposal. Was this a good hire for them? Seems like Miami could use a guy like this.

Gruden will be making every pick.

That's a ponderous decision for him... as it's common knowledge that the Oakland "GM" will be little more than Gruden's designated coffee boy.

Now OTOH, I'd be interested in Reggie McKenzie who got a bum deal there and was discarded like trash. He surely has a chip on his shoulder and a desire to prove Mark Davis wrong and Gruden stupid!

God he should be gone already. Go back to wearing green and white.
You have no clue with a statement like that. Do you think Gruden has the time, interest in, or expertise to negotiate contracts, across the table from a sharp as hell agent/lawyer?

There is a lot more to running a billion $ organization than you think.

Gruden will make the picks. Do you see him analyzing endless hours college tape? How do you think it works? Chuckie sees a highlight on ESPN, and says "let's draft him?

A statement like that is dumb.

Were you trying to go for funny, or have the Phins made you so cynical, that you've become incapable of having a positive thought? Does this carry into, and affect your personal relationships, or have those ppl already cast you aside to avoid the poison you continuously spew?

Just messing with ya bro.....lol

What just happened? Surely I’m missing something?

Oakland Raiders are now effectively run by 2 guys who have been TV analysts for the better part of the last decade... What could go wrong...
Id rake my chances, they're in far better shape than us

I think maybe you meant to quote the second post they made. I believe they were referencing Tannenbaum in what you quoted.

I don't know how much Gruden will listen to Mayock, but he needs to. Gruden is a personnel disaster waiting to happen. The end of Gruden in Tampa was largely due to his preference for older vets at the expense of rookies and young legs.

As far as potential performance goes, Mayock as a draft analyst is about as good as all draft analysts...hits & misses. You can't really know how a GM will perform until they're in the job. Many of us on this board could hit on picks in rounds 1-3, but would we be able to fill out a roster when we need to hit on bottom level picks and free agents? That's the test.
