Barry Jackson reporting it

Should be a more "active" free agency next year to say the least! Even if they re-sign both Wake and Long, they still should have a bunch of money to spend.

We do have to resign bush, long, smith and wake but yeah should be more active.. Although we don't wanna get into the situation were in now where we have a ****y team AND no cap space

If Long continues to be injured and stays on the Tony Boseli career path no lock he returns. If Daniel Thomas steps up and plays like a 2nd round pick, Bush will probably be gone as well.

If Miami is bad, no way they re-sign everyone. Would make no sense

Long, Wake, Hartline, Starks, Bush and Smith are all free agents. If they re-sign all of them, it will probably eat up most of that space.

I don't think we re-sign half of those guys. The Dolphins have been a losing team for a reason. No need to keep everyone.

Smith, Starks, and Bush I see no way we re-sign.

They aren't the reason the team has been losing.

the thing about reggie bush is you got to know when to get out...if he plays at a high level again this year and can stay healthy i can see giving him another 2 year deal for around what he makes now but the longer you go with that contract and the more guaranteed money you put out there the more likely you're gonna end up eating it...

i still have no idea why they consider signing hartline to be a priority...

I think I read somewhere that it's more in the 60-65 million range anyway.

Long will probably take what 10-12.
Bush I have no idea on, especially if he has another productive year. Probably 6mill cap hit.
Starks I dont see us re-signing, although if we did it would be similar to Soliai's deal.
Smith is a 50/50 decision, would probably get around the same as Starks aswell.
Hartline may have a breakout year, but if he continues similar production probably 2mil.

So if we re-sign all of them - we will have roughly 30mill in cap space.

Smith is easily replacable

We are deep on the d-line, resigning Starks isn't a must by any means

Hartline is a nice player but he better perform this year if he wants to get paid

Bush has stayed healthy 1 year in his life, if he has an injury filled year this year no sense keeping him around as he gets older

Aside from Long and Wake it would be no loss at all if any of those other guys left Miami. Not like we are breaking up a winning team here people!

Long has missed only a handful of games in 4 yrs. He in no way resembles Boselli's situation. That's a bit of hyperbole.

In 2020 Miami will be 150mil under the cap. Ohh that's right we haven't signed anyone out that long yet, my bad.

I wouldn't re sign any of those guys besides Long, and I'd sell high on Wake while we still can and get a high draft pick this year. This team is going NOWHERE as is, we need a ton of draft picks, and a ton of cap space if we want to have any future.... Not to mention a new GM, but I don't expect him around past this year anyway.
