Miami is not really capable of beating a team with a great tall wide receiver/good QB combination. Check mate. That’s the only thing that can stop us from winning, and an area we did not address in free agency or the draft. Those match-ups can make or break you. This is how I see us matching up with the rest of the AFC in the playoffs.

If we were to match up with the Ravens, they win with MaGahee running. They’re ranked 28th in passing yards, 21st in total yards. Ranked second in the league in rushing, I think we match up well with them now. I don’t think we are the same team that lost to them early in the season.

If we play the Steelers, Hines Ward is six feet zero inches tall, and Santonio Holmes is shorter than Ward. They are ranked 24th in rushing yards, 23rd in total yards and 22nd in points scored. We just might match up well there too.

If we play the Titans, they are ranked 24th in passing yards. They have 260 first downs and have allowed 255. They are +14 in turnovers, but opponents have more time of possession. A big stat is they have scored 41 touchdowns and allowed 23. Kerry Collins has a 80.3 rating, compared to 96.4 for Chad Pennington. With Tennessee, you have to stop the run. I am not scared of them either.

A few stats on Miami, besides Chad’s nice QB rating. We are not 28th in passing yards with our noodle arm, we are not 24th in passing yards, we are 11th. Ricky and Ronnie are tearing off 4+ yards per carry, and we rank- not 21st in rushing like the Steelers, but 13th. Our 347 total yards per game rank 10th in the league, not 23rd. The Titans have that 14+ turnover advantage, oh yea- so does Miami. But we lead opponents in time of possession. We also have 290 first downs compared to the Titans 260.

Miami is good enough to beat any of these teams. We are an eleven win team! We will win our division! This is not last year, we are a much much better football team.

Brandon Marshall: 6'4'', Jay Cutler = Pro Bowler.

Vincent Jackson: 6'5'', Antonio Gates: 6'4'', Phillip Rivers = best QB stats in NFL this year.

Miami 2-0 against them.

Fail.

Denver doesn't scare me, in the unlikely even they even win this weekend i doubt they'd make it out of the first round. They can't stop the run, whether it's in the Wild Cat or the traditional formations. Cutler is good but he's not playoff tested. If Miami had to play them i'd be confident in our ability to beat them, like we did already.

San Diego on the other hand i wouldn't want to play (if we were a Wild Card team). I know we already beat them, but i think they are going to be a pretty dangerous team in the playoffs being home for the first game and experienced from previous trips. A very revitalized and rejuvenated Chargers team could make some major noise in the playoffs.

I dunno. The Parcells revival at New England, New York and Dallas all kinda followed the same path. Fantastic immediate turnaround, followed by progression into an excellent regular-season team the next couple of seasons. But in the playoffs, the story is typically one-and-done. Thus far the Dolphins exceptionally good season looks like a best case scenario of the typical Parcells revival. I'm going to guess that we'll lose in the first round of the playoffs ... I certainly hope we win, but I just can't see it happening unless we get very lucky with turnovers.

This team is definitely improving. Pennington, at this stage of his career, is better than he was under Parcells in NY, and more consistent than Romo. He is an exceptional game manager but in actuality he's even more than that, which bodes quite well for us. We have the beginnings of a very good young offensive line that will improve each year for a good while. We have 2 quality running backs and Brown has a good 5 more seasons in him. Our TE's are really playing well this year too. Our offense looks to improve as Ginn matures and we add another good big wideout.

Defensively we're playing extremely well and the rookies are proving to be pillars of our defensive future. But, we still need to add a lot of young talent to that veteran-laden outfit.

I like where whe're going. But, I think we're going to lose in the first round of the playoffs if we reach it. I hope we make it and win, but I wouldn't bet on Parcells' revival discovering uncharted playoff success ... at least not so early.

Fail? Are you forgetting that Brandon Marshall caught that huge touchdown pass late in the game that was negated by a penalty? As for Vincent Jackson, it became much easier to cover him when Chambers got hurt. Gates was ALREADY hurting going into that game. And let's not even get into what Andre Johnson did against us! And what about Moss?? Your "fail" FAILS!

Well he is clearly showing you your theory has some "tall" holes in it.

Every team scares me even the Jets this weekend. I do feel like we can score almost everytime we get the ball if our offense is moving the ball forward and not side to side. Sometimes they lose focus for a few series and we won't have that luxury in the playoffs if we make it.

Nothing is given and this Sunday better be the best game that we played all year.

i think we can beat teams despite sucking on defense. it's the opposition's defense that scares me. we can compete in shootouts, but i dunno about tough low-scoring games against great defenses (see Ravens game)

As long as we don't make Joe Flacco look like the second coming of Marino again..we should have a good shot against Baltimore.

Yeah, what's up with that stupid fail remark?

I can't believe you are talking about playing the Ravens in the playoffs when we haven't even play against the jets which if I remember correctly we haven't got many success against them lately.
