I like you are loving this season and the great feeling of meaningful games.
As it has been and will forever be winning is great, however like every team winning masks weakness and I have some observations on a few weakness that the deoderant called winning has hidden thus far.
First as we all know ST coverage has been horrible and pressure punts have been inconsistant, how to improve this area is beyond me other than as the Mad Dog suggested putting first teamers on the coverage units.
Secondly Pass Rush, Joey Porter's season has made it less obvious but a look inside the numbers or simply watching the games shows that after Porter there is no real pass rush to speak of and will be the reason this team loses a game late in the year unless some guys improve their performance(ie charlie anderson & Vonnie holliday) when looking at the pass rush units they have employed Porter/Starks/Holliday/Anderson and sometimes a mix with merling & moses I would say again there is no answer on the street just expect the guys on the team now to get better..however I would expect this to be an offseason priority.
Next RG this has been a revolving door position and NO one yet has show any promise, seattle show more pass rush today than any team yet and that may not be coincidental with Alleman playing gaurd.
The lack of consistancy clearly has effected the running game and now is showing up in the pass protection.
Again no answer outside of the orginazation however I wonder if there is any thought to moving Carey inside and trying to develope a Tackle.
Last my feelings are as much as these area are a concern Im truly enjoying this season sure we need another pass rusher,better coverage teams and a solid RG those areas can be resolved during the offseason perhaps for now I'll enjoy the exciting ride this season has become.
