Is there any reason why Miami has to have a huge dirt infield? If you look at the Minnesota Twins, they just have a small dirt area around the bases and the mound.....the rest is artificial turf. I think the Phins should do likewise and tell the Marlins that come September, whether the Marlins are in the playoff race or not, most of the infield is going to be covered up with grass. What are your guy's thoughts about the dirt infield???

If we cannot cover most of the infield dirt area with real grass why not cover most of it with artificial turf like at the Metrodome:

I wish. Pat white slipped on one play but still ended up making a nice throw that of course was dropped. On a sidenote, did it look like the Receivers were surprised with the Zip White had on his throws? They seemed to put up their hands a little too late

my thoughts about it, are that we should kick the marlins out of landshark stadium. Boo baseball!!

Don't know, but i get really angry about that dirt... it is awful, and just makes me mad...

I think only the Raiders have to play on dirt besides us....it's just not worth getting someone hurt....if this inconveniences the Marlins, too bad.

Hopefully the Marlins will miss the postseason again so we can get rid of that awful dirt ASAP. This is the only time of year I pay any attention to baseball. I cheer every year when the Marlins are officially eliminated and then I go right back to not caring about baseball anymore.

Hey I see you are also in the Springs....Kelly O'Briens is a nice Phin's bar if you are looking for a local place for Phin's games.

that dirt crap is inexcusable - especially when it rains like tonight. it's fugging miami for crying out loud - it's not like we're the lions. get the marlins out of there.

I've heard about it. I'll have to check it out this season. :hi5:

Could be the difference between a lefty and right handed QB the ball spins the opposite direction and sometimes it can be an issue until you get used to it. Last legitimate left we had was Scott Mitchell who was Marino's back up in the late 90's.

I've always hated the marlins just for this crappy field. i still remember when we missed that field goal against the pats because of it and then they beat us in ot with that long bomb.

Minnesota has turf, the Dolphins play on grass. Grass fields have to have dirt infields, turf fields do not.

It's pretty bad that the #1 sports team in Miami has to suffer because of a team that few care about.

How do they suffer? Don't their opponents play on it as well? Miami should have an edge b/c so few teams play on fields like that early in the year. When we beat you last year it had nothing to do w/ the dirt on the infield.
