New Miami Dolphins guard Eric Steinbach has a glass-half-full outlook on sitting out the entire 2011 season with a back injury.

AP Photo/Alan DiazAfter missing all of last season, Eric Steinbach is eager to prove his back woes are behind him.

"When you go eight years hard, missing only three games and take a year off, I look at it as a positive," Steinbach said. "I’m hitting the refresh button. I’m going to come back hungry and ready to get back at it."

Steinbach was happy to be back on the practice field this weekend for the first time in a while. Following major back surgery, the former Pro Bowler and longtime Cleveland Browns star is trying to shake the rust and work his way into the starting lineup with the Dolphins.

Personally, I'm happy to have him. He could work his way into being a solid contributor.

I understand LG is his natural position, but I am little surprised he has been working as the 2nd string LG. I thought for sure he was going to be competing with Hicks and Jerry at RG. Perhaps that still ends up happening, but that did surprise me.

I thought Philbin said in his presser today they may work him on the right in a week or so.

Some fans wanted to move Incognito at RG... Maybe their wish will become a reality if Steinbach is the starting LG...

Everything that I have read about this guy is that he has one of the best work ethics in the league and is a premier pulling guard. Hopefully this guy has a a few good years left..
