10 years of 2nd round drafting and only Chanbers and Surtain to show....

welcome to Miami Dante......
lets go phins!!!!!!

great post. i can wait to see daunte in a phins uniform. every nfl player comes with risks even draft picks. remember people questioned crowder's knee?

I'd trade them all for Pepper.

And I mean a bottle of pepper or a green pepper or a Dr. Pepper.

Nice post. This puts things into perspective. And a lot fo people around here need some perspective.

we still have a third round pick, right? i remember somebody saying that we didn't.

You people are nuts. Because we have historically made bad 2nd round picks is a good reason to believe we will continue to do so? We have new management who one would hope might start making better picks.

Doesn't look promising however with trades such as this. This is the worst choice we could possibly have made for QB. You all just remember that you agreed with this trade. You soon be eating your words. Culpepper will be a cancer. Saban had me scared with a few things he did last year. Fortunately we at least had a good O line coach. This bone headed move makes me even more nervous.

Oh well here's hoping I am wrong.

No. The worst possible move would of been not to trade or sign anyone then miss out on the qb's in the draft and be stuck not having a good qb for another 4-5 years while we keep trying these stupid stop gap qb's.

I think what this says is we made, what at the time, were a number of pretty good second round picks. they didn't pan out, but look at every team's second round picks. Draft picks are a guess...sometimes they work out, sometimes they don't. DC, even with the injury, is a known, proven commodity....and that is what players are. so, you take a risk with what you know about DC or you take a chance. Not to say I think you should trade away all your draft pics. When you take a chance on a draft pick, it is a high risk, high reward (sometimes) kinda thing...but this was a good choice in my opinion (and I wanted Bree's)...

"Culpepper will be a cancer."

WTF?? What has culpepper ever done? Went on a cruise and got a lap dance? Wow. Who cares. Honestly wtf. Get a life, what has he ever done to say he was a cancer?

Which part of turning a 4-12 laughingstock team into a 9-7 highly respected team on the rise made you scared? Getting full value for Surtain? Getting starting LB and CB from 3rd and 4th round picks? Getting RW back for at least a year's worth of cheap service for next to nothing, at no risk to the team? Hiring the best O-line coach in the game? I'm pretty past second guessing this guy. If he thinks Culpepper's our best solution at this stage, I'm in. In fact, correct me if I'm wrong, but in the whole draft pick value world, isn't a 2007 2nd rounder equivalent to a 2006 3rd? So, pro-bowl franchise qb from the area with something to prove for a 3rd? OK.
