Miami's plays of the year...so far...

Just wondering what play...or tackle...or TD do you think has defined this team so far this year...What play has "Saban" written all over it. What one play are you most proud of....

Lance Shulters INT....for once we made a play instead of gave it away....that play lead to the winning FG....Wanny would have played to lose...and thats exactly what we would have done....Lost....but not this year.

Ok thats mine so far....what is yours??? :goof:

Just wondering what play...or tackle...or TD do you think has defined this team so far this year...you can pick 3...and break them down for us...your reason why you think they are the best so far...1 Offensive...1 Defensive..1 Special Teams..here is my thoughts
Offensive - I really liked the TD pass to Chambers...I believe that the arm strength and accuracy of Ferrotte is not mentioned enough...and running to his right and tossing the ball only where Chambers had a chance...and man what a One handed catch that was. Great blocking on the play also.

Defensive - Jason Taylors fumble recovery and 85 yard TD...it just shows that no matter if its the first or last play of a game...his motor never stops running...he probably makes plays mowing his lawn at home that we will never see.

Special Teams - This past weekend I saw a play, that I swear to God, I have never seen before. Wes Welker waited for a Kickoff to roll to about the 2-3 yard line...now this ball was NOT going to go out of bounds...it was about to stop about a yard from the out of bounds strip....and Wes stuck one foot out of bounds and touched the ball....forcing that ball by rule to be out of bounds and Miami got the ball at the 40. One of the smartest plays I had seen in awhile...and I wonder if because of Welker's complete knowledge of his position....that we may see more of it from other teams. Come on how many times have you seen the ball right there for any team to just do what Wes did but instead picked the ball up...cuz it is inbounds..and can be recovered by the other team like a on-sides kick.....and they just run it about 10-15 yards and get the ball maybe at the 20? Awesome play...

I think the Ronnie Brown run against Carolina for 58 yards was the biggest play. If he doesn't get that run, Carolina has us pinned inside our 5 yard line. We punt and they get great field position and may go ahead with a TD. Plus, on Browns run we got a field goal on the drive. That field goal turned out to be huge.

You r defensive and special teams plays are the ones I'd have chosen. I'd choose a different, less flashy offensive play, though. It's the Chambers reverse in the Denver game. Not because of the success of the play, but because of what it signified for the future under Saban. First, it was a fun call, getting the ball into the hands of one of our playmakers in an unexpected misdirectional way. But more important was the convoy of blockers I saw out in front, which included a lineman, a TE, a WR and his QB all enthusiastically contributing. I knew then that Saban had taken over this team in a positive way.

Wes did the same thing last year. I think its more luck that he has had the opportunity to do that twice, how often does a kick roll so close to the sideline like that?

Schulters INT IMO is the play of the year so far.

Offense - Ronnie's 58 yard run -- It eased so much tension that had built up all over the board and city due for months.

Defense - Schulters INT vs Carolina. It was simply something that wouldnt've been characteristic of last season. Making a big play when it mattered and changing the game. We've been used to it going the other way.

Special Teams - I'm still waiting for Wes to do something. For me, it was the fumble recovery vs Carolina.

that special teams play is nothing new, teams have been doing it for years.

Ronnie Brown Dislocated Chump Bailey's shoulder - play of the game and play of the year so far. Saban said "teams will come to hate playing the Dolphins". Bailey's early departure left their defense hapless. Booker then blew the game wide open.

Schulter's interception last week against Carolina - he single handedly saved us on that play from a painful and difficult destiny in which we would of had to suffer two weeks before our next game, and two losses in a row. Both offensively and defensively we were on the brink of total 4th quarter collapse. The O failed to get crucial first downs after the Panthers scored, and the D was bending and failing all over the place as Carolina moved down the field in the waning minutes.

Mare's kick at the end of the Panthers game last week. That clown has been letting us down for years now. Another failure on his part would have sent us reeling and most likely into the loss category. He bungled one in the Meadowlands the week before - that others said was not his fault due to poor snapper and holder coordination - but I do not buy it. He needs to anticipate these technical problems and be physically and mentally prepared to adjust. In this game he gets credit for pulling us out of the fire.

Again Mare's play did win the game for us....and Schulters INT set it up....sooo very important in this young season to be 2-1 and momentum going into bye week.

Schulters INT, and there isn't a close 2nd. Without that play we are 1-2.

I don't know about you guys but I absolutely loved our goal line stand against Denver. Our past teams never battled that hard from the goal line situation.

Good call. Not flashy, but impressive.

I'll go with the long TD pass to Booker after Denver closed to within 10 points. That showed the rest of the NFL we aren't the same old Dolphins.

I vote for the Booker 60 yd TD pass in the Denver game. When Denver scored a TD and made it 20-10, I started getting a bad feeling. Was expecting Miami to come out and run the ball 3 times and hope the defense could then stop Denver again. Instead Miami came out and went 60 yards on the first play. Thats when I smiled and thought, "This is a different Miami team!"
