Here are my thoughts on each of our QB's

Gus Frerotte:

I think he is a good QB with alot of experience, but he is to inconsistent. One week he can come out and dazzle the coachs and the next week he completely blows. Secondly, he is to older to depend on. We need a younger QB for the future. Plus, Gus is past his prime. He is a good backup that can tutor a younger QB, and step in from time to time. He is nothing more than a backup QB.

A.J. Feeley:

He is another inconsistent QB. He only plays good when he needs to.Like now that Gus is starting he comes out and out plays Gus, the minute you give him the starting job he will come out and do a horrible job. He never was a starter and he never will be.

Sage Rosenfels

Honestly I love Sage. I think he is an awesome QB, but I dont think he belongs in Miami. I would like to see him go somewhere else where he can compete because he isnt going to in Miami.

Brock Berlin:

I think he is the future of Miami, and i think if he got the chance he could be our starting QB this year. I hear he looked good in camp and he looked great on the field. I think he is a best QB so far this preseason. He has more yards than Feeley with about 20 less passes. He has the best comp.% with a 71.4%, and he has the best QB rating with 95.5. He is the best and he should get a shot.

As for the Tim Couch rumors,I say give him a shot, it cant hurt us.His numbers do compare with fellow 1999 draft pick and defending NFC Champion Donovan McNabb. There career passing totals are Couch=11131, McNabb=16926. And Couch does have a better comp.%, Couch=59.8%, McNabb=58.3%.Another thing is that McNabb actually hastargets in Philly. Couch had nobody, and if he can put up those #s with no targets, imagine what he do with them.

I say Feeleyneeds to go. We need to start looking at other options available because Feeley and Frerotte arent the answers.

Here are my thoughts:
Frerrote: sucks
Feeley: sucks
Sage: never gonna get a shot
Brock: ?

with that, I think we can win with Gus if the total offense (not just Gus) limit their mistakes.

Ok if not AJ, not Gus, not blind Berlin, and Sage then who? whos is out there in the market? can you think of a "GOOD" QB that will be willing to come to Miami?

The numbers here are not an accurate baromoter. Berlin and Couch's numbers have been put up against practice squaders and backups.

who are to practice squaders and backups

The last two weeks have firmly convinced me that Feeley should be the starter. Or at least, Frerotte should not. Hate me for saying this, but Fiedler never looked this bad in the preseason games that I watched. Frerotte looks lost, even though at times he has ability to avoid the passrush. His decision making is horrible, he reminds me of Rex Grossman, who when things go bad just launches the ball deep. He made one good throw, and that was it. Feely made 3 bad throws at the most that I could count, no more.

No, or else he would already be here. I think as far as a good QB that would be "Willing" to come to Miami, there are not any Good QB's sitting around on the Couch (not not Tim Couch) doing nothing.
Bottom line, we are going to have to play with the cards we have been dealt. Perhaps Berlin is the best man for the job, but I GAURANTEE you that Saban is light years ahead of us as far as insight into who the best QB on our roster is. I believe that as the system gels and guys start underdstanding thier roles, we will see much more production from whomever Lord Saban installs. Patience, lets sit back, cry over the bad times, cheer over the good. It is gonna be a tough learning season. JMHO

my whole thing about the QB situations is that I don't want to see the whole QB flip flop we had last season. If thats the case kiss this season goodbye. Don't get me wrong Im a Fins fan, but it just gets frustrating.

It'll be frustrating, especially because Frerotte showed the same kind of horrible play that Fiedler did that made last year so unbearable. I'm convinced now that Gus really shouldn't be starting, a veteran who has been a backup for years shouldn't supplant the incumbent starter unless he shows more ability than what we've been seeing out of Frerotte. The way our offense immediately improved with Feely starting against the Seahawks made me like what AJ brought to the table. He had his bad moments, but he also had some good ones. AJ just hasn't looked as off-targer as Gus has the last few weeks, its like Gus had a meltdown in both games.

ok smokingunz I belive the answer you are looking for is in the next years draft. who ? i am not sure but here are threee choices .

reggie mcneil texas a&m
brad smith Missouri
matt linehart usc
vincent young texas

I will say this , man i miss brian greise he looks like a hall of fame qb compared to feeley/ ferrotte

Frerrotte
Positives - Vet, unflappable, poised, good arm

Weaknesses- inaccuracy, loses focus, concentration and does dumb things.

Feeley
Positives - Good arm, confident, accurate

Weaknesses - doesnt handle pressure well outside last nite. forces balls.

Rosenfels
Positives - Size, arm, accurate

Weaknesses - Mental ability, intangibles

Berlin
Positives - Young, athletic, good arm

Weaknesses - inexperience, so-so college career, not ready.

Berlin may well be teh developmental qb Saban wants, but he is nowhere near ready to play IMO.

Gus should still be teh starter at this point, one game shouldnt change everything. BUT if he struggles next week again and AJ continues his progress then it gets interesting. If at the end of preseason AJ is outplaying Gus, you dont start Gus just because fans think we can win with him. If that is the reaon we should win with AJ if he is playing better. One game doesnt do that tho.

well in order foer the phins to get any of those QB's that would mean we would have to suck again this year, i for one don't want that. unless we trade for a draft pick.

just another cane homer tooting brock berlins' horn.

Neither one of these qb's are the answer for this team. For all of gus' expereince with this offense I wuold have like to see better decisions with the ball and better throws. Feeley, this preseason was his proving ground to see if he can face adversity (new coaching staff, new offense, last years flaws, verteran competition who is well versed in this new offense etc.) and in my eyes he has failed to take command of this team. You can factor in dropped passes, bad oline play and any other varibles you like. I try to separate that from the "pure" qb equation. Can you move the chains consistantly, thus keeping your "d" fresh? Can you generate a resonable amount of points per posession in a given quarter? do you make smart choices with the rock in your hands? Do you have a swagger or pocket escapability, Especially with a gelling O-line? The most telling thing about these two qb's is that after OTA's, training camp, and so far this preseason NONE of these questions have been answered in my mind. Without a serious threat of a passing attack it will be a long season for ricky and ronnie......and dolphans......
