Even if it was $1.00 in savings he should be cut.

I'm keeping Mitchell, Garner and Shelly Smith. Hartline, Finnegan and Starks only come back with huge pay cuts. I'm listening to any offer for Wallace and don't have much use for anyone else on that list.

Who in their right mind is going to keep Finnegan?

Looking at the numbers above, it makes sense to cut Ellerbe, Wheeler and Hartline after June 1st to maximize the saving. While Finnegan, Shelley Smith, Starks, Garner and Gibson can be cut ASAP to generate immediate savings.
I still have a strong preference not to cut Mike Wallace. He scored 10 TDs over the season, the most scored by a Miami Dolphin since Chris Chambers, 11 in 2005. All of these football experts saying how badly Wallace played, weren't watching the player I saw. Yes, he behaved like a diva in the final game and that was inexcusable but it was also partly Lazor's fault for not trying to get him into the game (ie throw him the ball).
BTW - Earl Mitchell won't be cut.

I may be in the minority but I think Ellerbe is a decent player. I'd try to restructure him and bring him back. Wheeler on the other hand - no use for him even if he came free. He's has no football intelligence and hurts the team w bad play, bad penalties and a bad haircut.

i'm pretty sure you're in the minority :)

I agree with you. However, I would have Ellerbe restructure and take a pay cut. I don't think we have the luxury to get rid of all our bad contracts, and Ellerbe could help our LB core and at the least make them average.

Whatever happens to Wallace (I would like to have him back this year) we should draft a big and fast receiver. If Wallace is here he could be our #2 or #3 for one year before he takes over after Wallace's release next year. The only way Wallace sticks after next year is IF he has a Megatron type season. Unlikely in our system.

I believe I read that Hartline is open to restructuring. I honestly don't understand the animosity towards the guy. He's a high character, solid team player who has outplayed his 4th rd draft status. He had back to back 1000yd seasons and was coming off a pcl injury last season. He's done everything asked of him and never publicly complains (a consumate pro). He's an asset to the team.

I agree with you on Hartline....quality guy and by all accounts a good teammate. However, I heard an interesting opinion on this exact issue (Miami WR's) last night by Gil Brandt of the NFL network. Brandt liked Hartline and thought he was a good receiver, but he felt that it was very difficult for NFL teams to keep multiple WR's who don't have exceptional speed. He lumped Hartline, Landry and Gibson all into the same pile and felt the Fins had too much money invested in possession receivers and needed another speed receiver. He felt it was a no brainer that Landry would become that possession guy due to age and his performance last year and that Hartline and Gibson would likely go and the team would turn to the draft for another receiver to play opposite of Wallace.

Everyone likes Hartline for the reasons you mentioned above, but I think a business decision will trump that. Or, he could take a pay cut and be a role player.

For what it is worth.....
