Michael Bennett as a potential Backup RB to Ronnie Brown?

I apologize if there has been a prior thread devoted to this subject. But I was wondering how your guys felt about Bennett joining the phins? The saints already drafted Rggie Bush and have mcafee as another Backup. We are in a new of a legit former starting RB like Bennett. He has rushed for 1000 yards in his career, has experience playing with Daunte, and is a speedster that could contribute on special team. Also this could work out as a trade since the Eddie Moore faield his physical and the saints are comfortable trading with us.
 
yea we should definitley try to get him hes a good RB in my opinion and just needs another chance he also once made the pro bowl
 
If we got Bennett to back up Ronnie i would be happy with that.He gets hurt alot but hes good when he plays

Not to be picky here, but the depth chart right now looks like Deuce, Bush, Bennett, Stecker, McAfee. Fred McAfee is just a special teamer, nothing more. When Bennett is traded Stecker will be the #3 back.

Exactly, and why give up picks, when we can most likely get a good RB after June 1st cuts.

Did they get rid of Antwain Smith? He did pretty good for them last year with the filler time he picked up when Deuce went down.

True, good to have picks, but if we can get good players to make an impact, go for it.

Some prior injury issues,but all in all I would not be against it.Would probably make Sammy play harder if he was here too.Not the worst idea but then we may have to give up another pick.I was psyched thinking that Saban would wait until the Lion's had to cut Joey and thought for the first time in like a million years we would have a full compliment of draft picks.Have to do what you gotta' do though.So long as we do all we can to keep our 1st-4th rounders,I am cool.Not sure what N.O. would want for him.They probably still are a bit ticked off from gettin' hosed in the Brees scandal.Saban is a shrewed man.Almost slipped Moore under the table to them too,lol.If I didn't feel so bad for their city, I would post that funny little smiley face guy who is rolling around on the ground laughing,but out of respect for the hurricane victims,I will not do that.

I agree. Let's trade JT for him. :lol:

Seriously, if we were to make this trade, we need to give up a player or two to get him. No more picks.

Bennett is a good change of pace back, and would probably spell the end of T. Minor's tenure here, but he cannot stay healthy. The other problem with Bennett is that he tends to go down when the first guy touches him...He is very fast, as you said, but I don't know if he played STs at Minny or not...he does know the system...He's certainly not going to be our #2 back, so trading for him and picking up the big contract would make him out of line (meaning that he'd be making more than Morris, who is our #2 guy.) I'me not sold on him as better or more specifically, more reliable than the guys we have...
 
what about deuce would we be able to get him cause he probably will be urked that they drafted an rb to replace him
