Michael Bennett To Dolphins??

That has to be the most moronic thing I have ever heard.....why would we want Bennett?

Unless possibly a trade was in the works for Ricky..and he would be insurance..but even then I wouldnt want Bennett.

(Im not questioning the thread btw. I read the attached link.)

why would we be mentioned with those teams?
We just gave away a pretty nice back up to N.O., and now we want another back?
Bennett is not someone I'd want anyway w/ all of his injuries.

This makes zero sense. What makes Miami a usual suspect?? In case the author hasn't noticed, we have Ronnie and Ricky.

the only reason we might want him is because of Linehan, but we have Rickky and Ronnie. Doesnt make sense, we are no longer a usual suspect in the running game.

Has to be a typographical error. Or just a careless writer. Since when are we a "usual suspect" in attempting to acquire a RB?? Did we not just trade away an excess back??

"Potential suitors". That's the author hypothosizing on his own.

There comment is baseless.

It could pretty much happen. It's all preliminary right now, and I'm sure the Dolphins are just feeling out the situation. Ricky Williams will not be with us for the long haul. He will raise his stock up dramatically this year, and as a result; we will get a good trade offer for him. Michael Bennett would be an excellent change of pace RB with his world class speed. Bennett's stock is pretty low, and he could be acquired cheap, Ronnie Brown would be our franchise back (of course) and Bennett would be our 3rd down back. Like I said before, it's all preliminary; and I'm sure the Dolphins are just feeling out the situation. If Minny is trying to move Bennett now, then I don't see us be a major player in trying to acquire him. If they plan on moving him at the end of the season; I think there would be a very good chance of us going after him.

This is almost certainly more reasonable than the explanation the article author would give. More than likely, he was careless and remembered that we talked about Bennett a little last season.

However, the idea of picking up Bennett after the season if/when Williams is traded is an interesting one.

Can't see whay this would be the case, we are stacked at RB and Saban isn't going to give away any picks. It's an old rumour that is being re-hashed!

I agree, it could very well be a rumor that is being re-hashed, but if it isn't...

There is more than one way to trade for a player, and it doesn't have to include us giving up a pick....ie; we trade Ricky for Michael and a pick. Trading Ricky while he is under his current contract would easily give us a person and a pick, or two picks. If his contract was a high dollar contract, than it would be a little bit harder to move him; plus we wouldn't get as much back in return becasue the acquiring team would have to worry about absorbing his cap hit, and they would have to worry about re-structuring his contract. Trading Ricky with his low paying contract will make him extremely hot on the trading block, and we would definitely get more in return; if we decide to trade him.

Michael Bennett continues to be a subject of trade rumors around the NFL. Potential suitors include the usual suspects - the Arizona Cardinals, the Miami Dolphins and New Orleans Saints . Bennett said Wednesday he prefers to stay in Minnesota.

We have ronnie and ricky. If we factor any more backs in then its just gonna create a deeper hole
