I was just browsing cbssportsline and they say numerous reports have been made that we are talking with the Saints about acquireing him. Sorry if this is late too I went back a few pages and seen no thread about it.

Nah not worth giving away anything for him.

I have always liked him and he may come cheap. The report said Bennett is expendable since the Saints have Bush and Deuce.

They are expecting a mid round draft pick for him and IMO thats too high a price to pay for an injury prone player.

I hear the Texans are interested in him.

Yeah he has had his injuries but he is good IMO when he is playing. I think a 4th would be a good trade. Saban has his O set for situations that call for 2 RB's on the feild and Bennett is fast as lightning and is a threat. I think Ronnie and Bennett would be nice in the 2 backs.

We may need that 4th if we go after LB Ahmad Brooks in the Supp. draft.

That would be a bad trend to start even though Saban has done well with his wheeling and dealing so far, we already gave up the conditional 6th for Harrington. If we give up the pick for Bennett that would be a mid rounder and a 6th or lower for Harrington so far. Maybe its not worth mentioning but its something to think about.

I would love to have him if we dont give up alot to get him.Hes hurt alot but when hes on the feild hes a good rb.

IMO our back up for ronnie is not on the roster yet...i think saban will bring in a vet to back up ronnie or get a victim from june cuts...i would like bringing in bennet because he should be able to keep healthy because he wont be the #1 rb and if he gets hurt we still have sammie morris to back up ronnie

yeah IMO i agree with you about the backup not being on the roster yet...morris would be nice for use here or there..but if saban plans on running the ball 350-400 times this season we might need someone with a little more speed and ability than morris...not saying morris isn't totally capable but would prefer someone a little quicker....
