Michael Egnew = Marquis Colston

Think with Fasano, Clay and Egnew suddenly TE is looking like a strength, clearly Clay and Egnew have a lot of development to do but in a year or so's time we could be really strong here.

I'm hoping Charles Clay gets a lot more playing time and Egnew just learns and gets a few snaps here and there. A lot of players aren't going to be great right off the bat. Lets take Tannehill for an example. He could be great if he puts hard work in, learns, studies, and people really teach him. On the other hand he could be a bust. Same thing for Egnew. I don't think it's fair to say he will be a bust, give him time. Only time will tell.

I'm not advocating BMarsh should have been retained, but that play was blatant PI. As for Egnew, I'd have to guess they plan to use him like Jermichael Finley if Philbin runs anywhere near the same offense as Green Bay.

That play was blatant stupid on Marshall's part. So was the play which was to throw the ball to Marshall no matter what. Marshall was trying to push Revis back, Revis stepped back and to the side and Marshall fell down. It was a perfect use of the idea of Akido.

That game convinced me that Marshall had to go. This was him in "beast mode", he was going to get "thrown out of the game" and instead he lost the game for us and looked like a ass.

Now we are going to have WRs that run the routes planned for them, not ones made up as they go along.

Egnew will he our starting TE.

Egnew will be a younger "David Martin" and Fasano will be the starter.

I expect to see C Clay still running much and more and longer routes from the FB position. He is very undersuized as a TE and where he far away gets the best mismatches is running pass routes from playing FB.

I agree that Clay should develop more. But he's more of an Hback. Catching balls and running routes out of the backfield is his thing. I don't see him as an inline TE, able to break off the line and get separation. That'll be Egnews job.

Has this been mentioned before, but I see Flashes of Keith Byars in Clay.

Egnew will be a hybrid. He will line up at TE in traditional sets and we will see him out wide as well when we run the spread.
