May 17, 2007-The Miami Dolphins today signed wide receiver Michael Malone (pictured) and safety David Lofton as undrafted college free agents. Both players, who attended the Dolphins’ May 4-6 minicamp on a tryout basis, are the sons of Hall of Fame athletes.
Malone, 23, played his final two collegiate seasons at Sam Houston State (2005-06), during which time he totaled 38 receptions for 446 yards and five touchdowns. He had 23 catches for 250 yards and four scores as a senior. He spent his first two years at Virginia Tech (2003-04) prior to transferring. Born March 9, 1984, the 6-3, 210-pound Malone attended Friendswood (Texas) High School. He is the son of Moses Malone, who played 21 years of professional basketball (1974-95), including two in the ABA and 19 in the NBA, and was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2001.

Thanks for the info and the pic. Any chance he's as tall as his dad? We could use some height at WR... good hands, too.
