Michael Thomas

Lol, his catch was ridiculous though! But yeah sore loser, but can you really blame him? I know I'd be getting fed up with Romo too. Gotta be frustrating to watch your leader keep losing games for you, especially critical ones like that one! Not saying it wasn't atupid, but I can see why he would be so mad. I'd probably be about ready to wait for Tony in the parking lot.

Dez: "Thats three games this year you've cost us Tony!!"
Tony: "Oh, so you can count!"
Dez: "Yeah, and you can count...on me...waiting for you n the parking lot!!"
Tony:*GULP*

I think the defense that blew a 29-3 lead or something like that deserves a little credit.

Philbin wasn't the only one that didnt know Michael Thomas's name, all week team mates and coaches were calling Thomas " #31 "

Still trying to find a video if Thomas breaking up the TD prior to the interception. Espn just showed it in one video from a side angle.....wow Thomas made an awesome play...

Miami players called Michael Thomas, who had game-clinching INT, "Number 31." McKinnie: "He just got here this week, nobody knows his name."

Watching his interview, I really like this guy immediately. He made plays and you can see it in his face he is as happy as he's ever been maybe. Great to see that. Dude got a chance and he made it count in a huge game.

He's always been a good interview. I remember him from Stanford because I bet that team so often. Thomas was defensive captain and David Shaw used to praise him all the time. Keep in mind it was Shaw's first year as head coach so he was on the hot seat following Harbaugh and a bit nervous early in the season. He looked to the seniors for leadership and big plays and really spotlighted them when they came through.

I remember when Thomas had an interception return for a touchdown against Washington when I had a first half bet on Stanford. It looked like a winner anyway but Thomas' return clinched it.

He struggled in the Fiesta Bowl against Oklahoma State. Blackmon burned the Cardinal safeties a few times on key plays. He was simply bigger and more athletic. Didn't look like a fair fight. I think that game played a role in Thomas not getting drafted. He really looked small out there against Blackmon. Today I was surprised that he seemed to have bulked up considerably since the last time I saw him two seasons ago.

It's still difficult for me to believe so many posters here don't want any part of Stanford players, based on the Martin irrelevancy. Stanford is the smartest and most resourceful program in the country. When we drafted Martin I remember posting that we were getting a slice of that. I didn't fully realize he was not in the Stanford mode of tough. Seemingly everybody on Stanford is tough. I knew Martin had athletic question marks as a left tackle but that's about it.

Well spoken young man, here's hoping he's a huge success story for us. What kind of a pay raise did he get for playing in this game?

you know what.. we may have find a keeper in michael thomas. San fran apparently was very high on him that they even increased his weekly salary just to keep him on their practice squad. Hopefully thomas turns out to be another gem like cam wake.

Jim Harbaugh was his coach at Stanford. Of all of the Stanford players he coached, there are few on the 49ers. It is interesting than Harbaugh liked him enough to pick him up as an undrafted free agent and kept him for nearly 2 years on the Practice Squad. They have patiently developed him under the radar. Jim Harbaugh probably has mixed emotions in that he's happy for Thomas but kicking himself that he didn't have him on the 53 man roster.

Awsi Dooger - I agree with your comments about Stanford, but I still think that it's likely that there may be more to the Martin incident than we have heard. JMart probably went through hell being mentored by a trainee sociopath. The implosion in the cafeteria was just the straw that broke the camel's back. The irony of the incident is that it could be the turning point in Joe Philbin's career. Against the odds, the players have clearly responded to the situation and we are getting on a roll.

I'm not going to fault Davis for playing off his WR a giving up 6 yard chunks. He kept his guy on the inside and no big plays or missed tackles.

Actually, this was my one gripe. The corners weren't playing with inside leverage against a team that thrives on attacking the middle. The Patriots had no deep threats in this game and the coverage didn't adjust.

Johnathan Martin is a *****. Leaving aside that it was a joke, he deserved to be shunned for his awful play. If I had to chose between the two, I'd take Incognito every day and twice on Sunday.

This kid balled out on day one in a Dolphins uniform. Will Davis was absolutely torched yesterday, anybody check on him in the burn unit?
