:sidelol:
If he's being projected as a RT, we can't afford to waste the #1 pick on him. In Miami, we're searching for a LT...
He's being projected as a RT by a couple of people only based on his strength in run blocking. He'll be a top LT because he's solid everywhere.
And you came to that conclusion based on what?? The truth is that no player has more / less of a chance at busting than any other....
The QB position is the hardest position in all sport to excell at and when your under whelming to begin with your chances aren't any better. If Long isn't the LT you want him to be you move him to RT to be more effective, thus lessoning the chance of him being a bust.
That's cool, I think J. Long will end up being a very solid player no matter where he ends up after the draft...
I think there's a solid debate going on right now in regards to this QB's class being considered weak. Some may view it that way, and others see it differently. Personally, although I wont call it strong, I can't call it weak either. I think guys like Ryan / Brohm are going to be special...
You might be right they may turn out to be special, but I can only go on what I see in front of me and what I see is a great LT which we need and a good QB in Ryan and Brohm and a bunch of projects. The fact that Brohm and Ryan are close tells me neither are worthy of the #1, I'd jump all over Brohm at 32 that's great value there.
And on the flipside, M. Ryan is the best in a small class of QB's coming out this year. So, five years down the road, when this roster is taking it's final shape, I'd rather have the best prospect at QB than I would at OT. Maybe that's just me, but I value the QB position much more than any other in football...
5 years down the road an undrafted guy may be the best QB far as we know.
PHINZ RULE!!!
