Everyone hates this part of the shopping spree: opening the closet six months or so afterward to see how things looks. Almost always, they are worn or faded – different, without the beauty and sheen of what's new.
Such excitement accompanied every fresh C-note dropped during baseball's $1.5 billion free-agent bonanza last winter. Flush with cash, baseball owners couldn't help but kick it back to the players and turn the offseason into a series of eBay auctions gone horribly awry.
There were mistakes. Lots of them. There were successes. Though not nearly as many.

Yilkes my Dodgers have 3 of the worst signings according to Passan. Although its a little early to call Jason Schmidt a bad signing, since he got injured an when he comes back next year could return back to his dominating self. Juan Pierre had a bad start, but is starting to heat up again, and has a history of second half improvements. Nomar, is really struggling, but I gota think he will break out of this funk he has been in. Plus, I think having a team leader veteran is a good thing...

Speier isnt up in the air imo. He was the best arm in the Angels pen arguably in the first month of the season. A fluke stomach virus has sidelined him but he comes back tonight and the Angels need him badly.
