Might As Well Rebuild

The people that were rooting for the team to lose was so that we could get a franchise QB at this time instead of looking up at athe other teams who now get to pick and choose their "silver lined " future. WE knew the season was lost at 0-7 and Andrew Luck wa coming out this year, rooting to have a poor record made logica l sense. ( although not emotional) Now we're screwed again and all you ever post about is give them a chance and you're always giving them the benefit of the doubt. Enough with the polyanna attitude, don't you ever get pissed over their incompetence? How much losing do you need before you take the "glass half filled " glasses off?

You love the Dolphins, as I do, since a wee babe. I still remember listening to the 45 on my plastic turntable when I was a kid, singing " Miami has the Dolphins. . . " We have to hold thier feet to the fire man, I'm fed up with this BS. Sparano loses every home game , and the team in 2010, and he gets an effing raise!!! That pissed me off to no end last year and then he comes out and tanks the season in the first 7 games? Really?

I want progress , conviction, a vision. Do something intelligent for a change. Nothing they've done in the last 10 years has steamed you up? If you can't get hot over the incompetence they've shown then we deserve to suck for a long time.

The Dolphins are greater than Mr. Ross.

But... but... I thought firing Sparano didn't mean we were rebuilding... that I was paranoid and extremist...

Must be all in my head.
I was also told that firing Sparano didn't mean this team would rebuild or lose key people like Mike Nolan. What happened?

Hell yeah I'm pissed at the losing and I'm just as critical of my team as anyone out there! I could go on about how stubborn Sparano was with his conservative-play-not-to-lose attitude, Ireland's Dez Bryant debacle, the way Ross handle the Harbaugh incident last season, the team's lack of focus and killer attitude in the fourth quarter of games, etc etc.

But all this has NOTHING to do with the next permanent head coach. We don't even know who this person is and people are already calling for season...decades of "sucking"? Jeez, here's a thought, why not give the new guy a chance to prove himself before we anoint the next ten years of Miami Dolphins football losing seasons? There's another 6-7 months before next season and a lot can happen between now and then.

Things can turn around QUICK in this era's NFL. Look at what happened with San Fran and their new coach! I'm not saying this is going to be the story of the Miami Dolphins...one can only hope. So to whine about who we HAVEN'T hired yet is just plain ridiculous in my books. Gone are Parcells and Sparano's imprint on this team.

I understand Ireland and Ross are still running this team, but all they knew was Sparano's head coaching philosophies pretty much. How do we know this team can't turn it around with a new head coach???? I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt until the new head coach fails like Sparano does. THEN I can say they might not know what they are doing, but until then, we don't know the direction this team is headed. Hell, a new direction...a new leader could be the spark this franchise needed!

Every offseason is rebuilding for every team. Nobody keeps all the same pieces from the team they had the year before, and some of the pieces they do keep, get a little older and slower, fatter etc. So yes, everybody rebuilds every year, it's just that some teams have better pieces to start with. The dolphins have very few legit pieces to our puzzle.

That's the truth. Some teams seem to "rebuild" better than others as well. Obviously, Sparano was a failure at rebuilding the Miami Dolphins after an 11-5 start to his tenure. Let's just hope we find a head coach who can do it with this team sooner than later. I'm pretty sure one thing we can all agree on is we're tired of the losing around here. Time to rebuild this damn team into a winner!

Where do you get "Looks like Philbin may go to Tampa Bay" from? and why do you think we will " probably end up switching to a 4-3 defense or run a hybrid"?

lots of assumptions and no clear thought out process of realism. trade this that and the other.....

Dolphins fans have been waiting 39 years for a Super Bowl win and counting. Not impatient.

31 other teams are going to wait every season. Heck, it could be worse...we could be 14, yes almost half the NFL, that hasn't won the Super Bowl. Ask these teams...

Minnesota Vikings (0-4)
Buffalo Bills (0-4)
Cincinnati Bengals (0-2)
Philadelphia Eagles (0-2)
Tennessee Titans (0-1)
San Diego Chargers (0-1)
Atlanta Falcons (0-1)
Carolina Panthers (0-1)
Arizona Cardinals (0-1)
Seattle Seahawks (0-1)
Cleveland Browns
Houston Texans
Jacksonville Jaguars
Detroit Lions

So all the learning the defensive players the last two years if completely forgotten because the coordinator jump ship. SMH. We have a lot of proven veteran Defensive players that will not accept rebuilding after 4 years.
