Mike and Mike 2 A-Days

I can deal with a losing season if after the season it feels like we have a good future.

I loved the end of last season to see players stepping up but I still knew we needed some players. I'm a naturally optimistic person, but I can admit when work is needed.

Look at the Panthers. They had the same record as us and have (had?) a bunch of holes but Cam Newton was so good people think their future is bright and now Carolina has become a highly marketable team.

2nd Question: Will Miami regret cutting Chad Johnson? Golic said he felt from an on field standpoint we would miss him as we don't have a lot of talent at WR. Greeny said the same thing, but with what Philbin wants to do it was the right move.

 How does a team miss a player who's only contribution EVER was one dropped pass in the first preseason game?

Agreed. Well put.

Damn, do we not notice that a 5-11 record is worse than Tony Sparano's record in any year. I still think that they should have kept Brandon Marshall.

Yeah lets poison the rookie qb with Marshalls idiot antics, that would work well.

It all comes down to Vegas fellas Miami current win total odds are at 7 wins (-130) on under and (Even) on over 7 wins on Bovoda. About a month back Miami opened up at 7.5 (-115) on under 7.5 (-115) on over 7.5 wins...seems high right who wouldnt take that under?. As you can see that line dropped a half and is now (-130) on under which everyone and their mother will take that why?? well heres the key words and its funny because it was just used on mike and mike.... Rookie Head Coach, NO Recievers, Rookie QB, and How will the D show up and also we didnt win 7 games last year and we seem to be in worse shape this year hence "rebuilding". Those three main factors is why the public is heavily on under 7 wins and has already been moving. With that being said Mia will get over 7 wins this year cause nobody (public) would ever think a team thats rebuilding will go 8-8 especially with a rookie qb with a unknown supporting cast. PLAY OF THE YEAR MIA OVER 7 WINS THIS YEAR!!! In box me if anybody wants some plays during the season which most will disagree with my picks which is why I win.

GO FINS BABY!!!

Our schedule is soft and once a starting QB is chosen they can begin gelling with receivers. I'm not so down on the wide receiving group, however. Yeah, we don't have a clear top guy, but so what? In the WCO you don't really need a clear #1 guy, its by committee. What you need are guys that can catch in traffic and get YAC. Bess and Clay are pretty good in the middle, but we need Wallace, Pruitt or 7-11? LOL -- someone needs to step up and make plays from out wide. And don't forget Bush and Miller catching passes out of the backfield.

We also have some pretty good RBs that can run WR routes and cause mismatches.

9-7 is and has been my prediction for a while. It could go up and down a game or two, but that's where I see us at this point. That home schedule, especially, is pretty easy going for the most part. I can see us winning 6-7 games at home and the obligatory 2-3 road games. The road games are a lot tougher...not just because we're away from home, but the competition is a lot better.

Non division home games: Oakland, St. Louis, Tennessee, Seattle, Jacksonville.
Non division ROAD games: Houston, Arizona, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, San Francisco.

Hell, we went 11-5 with Tony Sparano leading us and Dan Henning & Paul Pasqualoni as our coordinators.

finishing 5-11??? That's bull!

That's like saying Philbin can't be better than Sparano...the coaching change in itself should provide us with more wins, let alone an easier schedule...I see us improving from last year no matter how bad we play...at least 7 wins or better.

Seems to me they play down Philbin alot because he is a rookie head coach. But they seem to forget Sparano came in as a rookie head coach and took the team to the playoffs.

I think we're getting more love because we aren't running under an outdated philosophy.
I think this is a key reason around the optimism for this season. Even if we only win 4-6 games, we'll be operating with a more modern offense, with a potential franchise QB. Our staff seems to be focused on setting a foundation instead of just talking about it like the previous regime. We won the division in 08, but then they screwed themselves into thinking the team was better than it really was.

Arrow pointing up, yet the record will be worse with an easier schedule?

9-7. Potential playoffs.

Jests 4-12 cellar.
I see the Dolphins more in the 8-8 range, especially if Tannehill is starting. He will have bumps along the way which might the team struggles a little.

I agree about the Jets, I think they are headed for a total collapse. Patriots still rule the East and I think Buffalo is being greatly overrated. I see them more in the 6-7 win range.

what they are saying is they dont really know any of our guys. which means they dont know. they basically said that based on this thread.

Wait till you see more Tannehill tonight. things change.

fred astair coming to your town.
