I did not see this posted, but Mike Golic had some extra information I had not heard. Jonathan Martin was "fined" $15,000 via the Kangaroo Court of the team because his rookie year he did not or refused to help pay for the rookie meal. That is where the $15,000 to Vegas came from.

I thought it was interesting and wanted to pass along.

In the end, the letter of the law will be with Martin. However, Martin will be guilty of stepping all over the written laws of brotherhood of the locker room and team.

Non-athletes will support Martin, but those that played the game will know there are certain things you do to be part of the team even though they might not happen in a "regular place of work.

What he needs to do is come out, hold a press conference, set the facts straight whatever they may be.
Im sick and tired of hearing all of these 'stories' come from the media that NOBODY knows whether or not they're true.

I would not be surprised and would support Martin if he has been diagnosed a mental illness, but he needs to explain. I also would not be surprised if he has been "outed" as being gay, which there is absolutely nothing wrong with.

I do not have a problem if you have an issue with it...I mean that honestly. However, it also shows that you do not understand the culture of what the locker room is like in the NFL. Martin breached a code that players hold dear. In doing so, Martin ruined the relationship with others on the team.

You might be right that it is a "waste" of money, but that does not matter with brethren.

Laws of brother hood really. Its asinine childish behavior that has gone on for years with every NFL team. I have have played sports at every level except pro and have been in military so I think I have a valid perspective on the matter.
Never understood what giving someone blood wigs or having them carry your equipment actually did to make one better. Its for the benefit and amusement of the vets. I mean seriously maybe u dont want someone to cut your hair off in a silly manner just to give other players a laugh.
This is the peter pan syndrome that the military has thankfully gotten away from and the NFl can start growing up too.

Although it has been part of the culture for years my understanding is that taking the team out for dinner was a one time after training camp type event with the rookies paying the tab. No problem with that as long as no one is forced to partake. Of course their is a fine line between forced and influenced. Regardless, the way this is blowing up is that this is a common occurrence which if it is, the NFL needs to put a stop to it. No way in the world should the youngsters be made to pay the vets way on a continuous basis.

But it appears to be more than just paying for dinner. If this does in fact involve threats to participate it's flat out wrong and needs to be addressed. The military put a stop to hazing because there is always one small group that push the envelop and go to far. That may be what is unfolding and if it is, those who participated and those in a leadership position who knew and allowed it should be held accountable.

Martin never fit in with this team. It is evident. Philbin and Ireland should made changes in the off season.
Nothing was done. We could have drafted a player that could help us right away, but instead we drafted Dallas Thomas who is a work in progress at best.
Ireland needs to draft another softie to play next to Martin. Someone for him to play barbie's with in the locker room.

If Incog has played his last game with us, I would just like to say that he was a very good player here, As a fan I appreciated his toughness.

I am so sick of this front office.

I played football through college and I support Martin in this situation...(though he should have handled the situation differently)

The Money is one thing and happens all the time in the NFL, though I think it is a little sad that the guys making 6 million a year force these guys to pay for their stuff (beyond the rookie night dinner tab) and that what seems to be the issue. Incognito went out of his way to single out Martin and continue to harass him and threaten him beyond his rookie season.

We disagree on this. Im Infantry and my concern as always is not for the people that strive so hard to belong its for the ones that dont want somebody pounding on their chest so they can feel better about themselves. My concern is for the people that dont welcome such behavior but are more than up to the task of completing the actual mission in front of them. To some people drawing blood by driving pins into another is not what they strive for. I personally have never gained anything emotional from such endeavers and have always for the most part refrained as much as possible(maybe Im just a differant sort, it seems Infantry still loves to play any and all types of slap ball games) The behavior though is juvenile in its very essence its like spanking fraternal brothers and so on. we just walked 25 miles in like 7 hours so Im not sure that somone slapping me on the azz with a belt buckle would be a necessary extra to prove myself.

In another note, we finally see why the OL has been an issue for a few seasons now. It's just like going to an office and working under conditions like that. Imagine for 6-7 starts this year Incognito and Martin were side by side. How could Martin give his all? How much did Incognito do on the field to make Martin look bad?

That is it...Martin was not giving his all and that is why he gave up pressures on the QB and could not run block. I heard it all.
