That is it...Martin was not giving his all and that is why he gave up pressures on the QB and could not run block. I heard it all.

I do not want Martin back. He is a distraction and lousy football player.

I live in Montreal, so we don't hear much of what happens in and around and NFL team aside from the product on the field and what we read in our fan forums. However, I can say that annually I hear about the TRADITIONAL rookie meal. Meaning the rookies paying for a supper to the vets. So it's not all that obscure to thing this happens in the NFL too. However, like it's been said already, if it's a regular thing, this should be taken care of at management level (or at the very least with the veterans if there is a strong leadership group in the lockeroom) to keep the abuse in check...
I did not see this posted, but Mike Golic had some extra information I had not heard. Jonathan Martin was "fined" $15,000 via the Kangaroo Court of the team because his rookie year he did not or refused to help pay for the rookie meal. That is where the $15,000 to Vegas came from.
I thought it was interesting and wanted to pass along.
In the end, the letter of the law will be with Martin. However, Martin will be guilty of stepping all over the written laws of brotherhood of the locker room and team.
Laws of brother hood really. Its asinine childish behavior that has gone on for years with every NFL team. I have have played sports at every level except pro and have been in military so I think I have a valid perspective on the matter.
Never understood what giving someone blood wigs or having them carry your equipment actually did to make one better. Its for the benefit and amusement of the vets. I mean seriously maybe u dont want someone to cut your hair off in a silly manner just to give other players a laugh.
This is the peter pan syndrome that the military has thankfully gotten away from and the NFl can start growing up too.
From what I've heard from a few relatives and friends, the military still hasn't grown up, just shifted it's stupid behavior a bit more out of the spotlight.
Martin never fit in with this team. It is evident. Philbin and Ireland should made changes in the off season.
Nothing was done. We could have drafted a player that could help us right away, but instead we drafted Dallas Thomas who is a work in progress at best.
Ireland needs to draft another softie to play next to Martin. Someone for him to play barbie's with in the locker room.
If Incog has played his last game with us, I would just like to say that he was a very good player here, As a fan I appreciated his toughness.
I am so sick of this front office.
Ross...blow this mess up please?

It hasnt totally grown up because there is alot of pushback but hazing is not a minor thing to do in military and if found guilty your career will be done
maybe grown azz mn should pay for their own meal lol
I'm all for rookie hazing (to an extent) and laughs and jokes.
But to "force" someone to pay $30K for a dinner or some crap is beyond ridiculous.
For all the player safety stuff the NFL implements, it's sad that they haven't snuffed out hazing. By allowing the behavior, they are encouraging it. By encouraging the behavior, they're aligning themselves with the worst kind.

Im actually in military and its still got alot of stupidity but no hazing
The problem is that you can't expect there to be a limit on hazing. The NFL needs to catch up to the rest of the professional business industry.I'm all for rookie hazing (to an extent) and laughs and jokes.

I do not have a problem if you have an issue with it...I mean that honestly. However, it also shows that you do not understand the culture of what the locker room is like in the NFL. Martin breached a code that players hold dear. In doing so, Martin ruined the relationship with others on the team.
You might be right that it is a "waste" of money, but that does not matter with brethren.
