Mike and Mike This Morning

The problem is that you can't expect there to be a limit on hazing. The NFL needs to catch up to the rest of the professional business industry.

which would be TOUGH. The nfl itself is a professional business, but the employees, the players, well... many superior athletes do not have the mental makeup to acclimate to a professional business industry.

CNN also had a roundtable on this and it was interesting. Martin could be the Bravest of them all for speaking out on this. You may hear other players come forward soon.

In another note, we finally see why the OL has been an issue for a few seasons now. It's just like going to an office and working under conditions like that. Imagine for 6-7 starts this year Incognito and Martin were side by side. How could Martin give his all? How much did Incognito do on the field to make Martin look bad?

This is deep and for the Mngt and Coaching to be clueless?

And it is taking root. Martin is a media darling, while being a social cause. If you actually think more players will come forward soon, I would say your crazy. But hey, a back up LT some where might find his way to a class action lawsuit.

I do not have a problem if you have an issue with it...I mean that honestly. However, it also shows that you do not understand the culture of what the locker room is like in the NFL. Martin breached a code that players hold dear. In doing so, Martin ruined the relationship with others on the team.

You might be right that it is a "waste" of money, but that does not matter with brethren.

Actually Ian Beckles a former player and now radio host said he would have told them no he wouldn't pay it and flat out said " what are you going to do about it?"

Yea Im with Ian on that, I have been involved in many showdowns in the military about stupid crap I will not get involved with. I remember Dez Bryant getting flack because he wouldnt carry some vets pads, I would have been like carry your own esp since he was a first round pick, like whats another player going to do about it

Ryan Leaf said that, and do you know what happened to him? It wasn't pretty.

Now, Will Davis came out today and said "guys can say no." But whether or not that's true, or if everyone knows that, is another story.

When I got my EFMB I had a whole line of people waiting to pound them in.

I didn't mind it, and in fact welcomed it. It's not a question if the behavior is
assinine or juvenile in a vaccume. It's part of a greater process.

What greater process? That Misery loves company? Trial by fire? or We Never really leave Jr High and the defective ones among us relish, promote, & perpetuate the mentality???

Only good thing that will come from this is Martin will get the help he needs (I also think he needs to come to grips on who he is) and the NFL will put limits on this childish ritual hazing of the rookies.....

I did not see this posted, but Mike Golic had some extra information I had not heard. Jonathan Martin was "fined" $15,000 via the Kangaroo Court of the team because his rookie year he did not or refused to help pay for the rookie meal. That is where the $15,000 to Vegas came from.

I thought it was interesting and wanted to pass along.

In the end, the letter of the law will be with Martin. However, Martin will be guilty of stepping all over the written laws of brotherhood of the locker room and team.

Non-athletes will support Martin, but those that played the game will know there are certain things you do to be part of the team even though they might not happen in a "regular place of work.

Hayden come on.. Really??? This is your defense for hijacking threads with 'Martin is a snake'???? Your game analysis is on the front page of FH and this is your take on this hot mess????? Sorry but that's beneath you bro.

'The Code'???? The Man Code??? That archaic predatory bullshnizzit that decrees it is your right to prey on the weak in a laughable effort to 'toughen them up'??? Just take a moment to realize how ludicrous that logic is... In fact 'logic' is the last word that should be used in reference to this case... especially since you are actually implying what Martin did is on par or even worse than what Incognito did. Unreal.

There is a reason that in every SINGLE INSTANCE when this 'Laws of Brotherhood' rationale rears its ugly head it is forever mixed with a personal story... or a history... You know... It usually begins with 'Back in my day... bla bla bla' or... 'You know when I played the game...' That is because the people that are still clinging to it are out of touch... The world has changed. The days of: 'he bullied you? You just hit him back' ended the moment kids started bringing autos into classrooms. Move on man.

And you know who decides how much is enough??? The torturers... And the victim? Well he should just take it because that's the way it has always been. Seriously. That's the rationale. Just because you let people do it to you does not give you the right to do it to everyone else.

The truly ugly irony in all of this... Is that the OL is the noblest of professions... it is the OL who sacrifices himself, does all the dirty work and heavy lifting for NONE of the credit... It is the one job on a football team where it is his sole responsibility to PROTECT someone else at his own expense... Guessing your boy Incognito missed that memo.

Oh and for the record..? Played football all my life... Hockey too.

Martins no angel either he was hazing and bullying the rookies like the rest of them.

BS, I would tell Incognito he can stick his fraternity up his azz!

I kinda say wtf? every time I hear this argument.

but more is bound to come out, so I hold back some more....and be entertained....while Praying Garner stays healthy.

Maybe since this is really a business they should act like they are truly professionals

Im actually in military and its still got alot of stupidity but no hazing
gotta say I agree with everything here. if these men were truly professionals and came to work and did their job, and took pride in winning as a team, this **** never would've happened.

Jesus.. people want to talk professionalism. Give me a break. Some the interviews I hear the guys can't even speak proper English. Some of these guys aren't even educated despite getting college scholarships.

Football doesn't care about intelligence or political correctness unless it gets caught. And the only reason they would care about that is because the almighty dollar.

Football is about violence. This is glorified violence sold as family entertainment. The game is predicated on the type of characters Incognito personifies. There's is nothing that doesn't happen in other locker rooms. Our boy Martin just happened to out everyone.

Regardless of where the setting is, Martin needs to man up and defend himself. Talking to Philbin ALL WEEK Martin and his family were putting together this case against Football. Incognito is merely the patsy.

This was a well crafted, media fed, calculated mind **** created by Martins people.

People want football to be squeaky clean with virtuous personalities. Sorry, it just doesn't happen that way.

you don't have to be a rocket scientist to be a professional. this is more of a case of, what was philbin trying to build here, tossing out player after player that didn't fit his vision of what he wanted on his team, that we wound up with this?
