Golic was pretty much negative on the entire team.
* He thought Daunte is playing too soon.
* He was very skeptical that Ronnie Brown could be an every down back.
* He basically intimated that the Defense was aging, ranked #18 last year and is headed down rather than up.
He predicted 9-7; Greeny - 10-6.
I don't like Golic's analysis and never have. His analytical skills are pretty poor.
I agree that Culpepper might be playing too much too soon.
Ronnie Brown will be fine unless he gets an injury. This guy is strong and a horse. His legs are huge.
While the D was ranked #18 - the D rankings don't tell the story at all. It's all about yards allowed. But, it took some time to get the D going last year in Saban's complex system. Golic never mentioned that we had an incredible sack total and made a ton of big plays. It's more geared toward a big-play defense - rather than a 'shut-down' D. It is true we are aging, but we have more depth on the D-line than we've probably ever had. And, we really have only one older LB - Zach. The D-backfield is younger than it's been in many years.
