As you all may know JD Folsom was signed to active roster. We also remember Folsom as our 7th round pick and having an INT in the preseason and being good on coverages. Well, Mike Berardino is posting his take on Folsom via Twitter. Berardino thinks that because Folsom was signed it means he will be used on coverages. Meaning this 7th round pick was not only signed as a Special teamer. Folsom tommorrow could see snaps ahead of either Torbor or Ayodele.

This does not surprise me one bit. The Trifecta has been known for finding gems late. Bess, Donald Thomas and the list goes on and on from there days in Dallas. Clemons started last week and I think he did a good job, correct me if Im wrong.

Folsom has the perfect height and weight to play ILB at 6'3 & 228 pds it would not surprise me if they found another gem. So tommorrow it will be interesting to see if we see some of Folsom out there, after all this kid must of done something right to get signed. If there is something we know about this organization is if you are not producing, you are not starting. All Im saying is keep you eyes peeled for Folsom tommorrow.

We really need help at ILB, so to find a gem at that place would be unbeiliveable. But lets see him play first.

ya. lets see him play. If i remember right. He seemed like he ran slow. just my thought.

Why do we have to do this with every player
there is a reason he wasn't on an NFL for 8 weeks
he's just filler .quit hyping every nobody up.

Jd Folsom

At his Weber State pro day he measured 6-3, 230 pounds and ran a 4.59 forty-yard dash, had a veritcal jump of 32½" and broad jump of 9'8", a 3-Cone drill of 7.30 and did 20 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press

Honestly, I'll be surprised if Folsom does anything for us. He is incredibly undersized at linebacker for the 3-4.

The only way he makes any impact, is if he plays more intense and ahead of everyone on the other side of the ball. Sounds familiar..

I think they typically want those guys in the 245 range. That is aht they mean about undersize. His height is good but can his frame handle 15-20 pounds of bulk to keep him from being bounced around like Manute Bol in the paint.

He had an INT in the preseason. I only hope he can help cover in 5 or 4 WR situations. We will be facing alot of that. I hope if anything he gets experience and hopefully makes a contribution to the game 2morrow, if not in the near future.

All this means is they like Folsom more on coverages then Kershaw. They like Kershaw more as a every down LB and if you saw any of the PS then you would know that.

And if 8480 really thinks Folsom could see snaps ahead of either Torbor or Ayodele. Then he needs to stop :bong2:

:aww:

At 6'3", he's the right height, but at 230 he's a bit underweight. You have to realize as an ILB in the 3-4 he has to bang with the 300+pound OL all day and shed blocks. That's not to say he can't be effective, but ideally he should be in the 240-255 lb range.
