Whisenhunt has been coaching the Cardinals since 2007 and already been to 1 Super Bowl with a few inches away from winning the game. Whisenhunt and the Cardinals have done this late career Hall of Fame Qb thing once before with Warner. A track record speaks volumes for a guy like Peyton.

Joe Philbin, Jeff Ireland, and Steve Ross have done what exactly? I'd love for Peyton to come here, but those three guys have nowhere near the cache that Whisenhunt has, which int itself is very sad to write.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on SportsCenter that, in the "estimation of many people around the league," the Dolphins are losing steam in the sweepstakes for free agent Peyton Manning.
Without providing detail, Schefter cited the same reasons that drove away Jim Harbaugh and Jeff Fisher. "I think there are certain circumstances that prevented certain people from choosing Miami," Schefter said. "And I think that those factors will come into play with Peyton Manning." Added Schefter, "I think their chances right now are dwindling some. ... Miami doesn't seem to have an advantage that it did a few days ago, in the estimation of many people around the league."

I just hope it aint true

Francesa HATES the Dolphins! Living in NJ, I hear him a lot and the man goes out of his way to poke fun at the Dolphins. If we do land Peyton, he will say it is the worst decision Manning ever made!

I also hope it is'nt true but I do feel it is a possibility that some may not want to admit. Some of the recent moves made by Ross show that he is not the most NFL savy decision maker. I'm sure Peyton also realizes part of our motivation to sign him stems from a desire toward ticket sales. Someone as driven as Peyton to win another championship may feel this should'nt be a part of the criteria in signing players. Many former players have also expressed a good deal of dislike for Ireland, citing that he is pompous and arrogant and can't be trusted. If players are lied to by by front office personnel word will get around.Philbin is the one factor where no negativity has come out, but he is new and this possibly may not be a situation Manning would be comfortable with. It's possible that a small rift between FO and coaching may already be occuring, as it's been reported that Philbin would prefer to build his team through the draft and not be a player in the FA market. I'm not saying these things are true, but if this is the perception around the league, it would definately affect some free agents decisions.

my question would be what has changed from "a few days ago" concerning the front office?

imo, stopping the Orton trade and not giving Fisher total control were very savvy moves

That is true and could be a legit reason why Peyton might choose the Cardinals over the Dolphins but that would be an "inexperience in the head coach" not "instability in the front office".

Hes hearing Peyton Manning isn't happy with miami dolphins instability in their front office and that might be a big factor in decesion. Take it for what it's worth but isn't that why fisher said no?

We are have "instability" issues and Arizona...has done what to prove they are "stable"????

i would love to know who those people are. i put my money on its some office workers in the room w/ schefter hanging out by the water cooler.

Francessa's comments sound like that homer Mike Greenberg's... And we know how great his predictions are.....

Nobody wants Carl Peterson around in a "non-role" with "no title" as the guy who goes behind everyones back and tells Ross what everyone is doing (like a snitch in school). THAT is the instability.

Ross needs to give Peterson a title and a role or else this crap will go on forever!!!

Arizona is over the cap as we speak. And they are a frontrunner. Now thats what Shefter would call stability. Cus we can dismantle our team any time we want just to get you in here Peyton.

So Manning does not like instability and helicopters? We have NO chance now!

Fisher NEVER had any intention of signing here.
