Holbrook answered one of my questions in his chat today...

Ben (West Palm Beach, Fl): I was reading about Culpepper and I noticed his career pass completion percentage was 64.4%..being that the dolphins finished dead last in that in 2005 should we expect a much better offense in 2006? and do you think Culpepper will still be that effective with less mobility? Thanks!

Mike Holbrook: (4:01 PM ET ) Ben: There's no question the Dolphins expect a much better offense this year with Culpepper's accuracy and ability to throw the deep ball well adding dimensions they didn't have consistently last year. As far as Culpepper's mobility, it will come back as the year goes on. I don't think it will hinder him too much early in the year.

Sweet!

I don't understand some of the rival fans and their trash talking about Culpeppers in-accuracy, it seems like they just look for reasons not to give any Fin credit. I look forward to the many different ways we will be able to score now that we have a QB like Culpepper. It will be a fun and exciting season this year.

exactly, he just has to get his legs under him, as the season goes on. i think we will see how confident he is in a later game this year when he runs wild on some team without them expecting it. he has a 3 rushing td game(in one half, and his first game starting ever) i could see him breakin that this year

They are just un-informed...though if you point it out they will just say it was moss and then go on about the fumbling thing(which actually is a problem)...

I love it! We finally have a legitimate quarterback, not someone else's garbage, 3rd stringer or career journeymen.

As for the other teams' fans trashing us, this is just wishful thinking for them. They don't want Daunte to succeed because if he is successful, the Dolphins will be successful.

I think they are more scared then un-informed. The fins have won a lot of games over the past 5 seasons with second string and sometimes third string talent leading the way. Chris Chambers gets little respect due to the fact that he's never had an elite QB throwing him the ball. We have a ton of talent on the O side of the ball that can now be utilized properly with an elite QB leading the way. I've also read Daunte isn't the smartest QB in the brains dept. Then why was he nearly league MVP??? Seems as though some people don't want to give credit where credit is due.

I think this years motto should be "No more excuses"... We have competant people in place at every position...there is no reason why we should not play well...

What if Daunte doesn't play the first handful of games?? I thnk Joey is an obvious step down from Daunte at this point in time, but to be honest I would love to see Joey get a shot and redeem himself while Daunte gets a little more time to recover, then Daunte steps in and we become a force in the league.

they are just jealous and completely uninformed, everytime someone tries to blast me with daunte sucks chants i just go directly to daunte being the most accurate passer in the nfl with over 2500 passes, i mean really that is the best stat to own as a qb and im glad ours does :dolphins:

One could argue that Joey is an upgrade over Gus -- for those of you that said what if Daunte can't start....

But seriously guys. I don't want to get TOO proud or jinx anything. We TOTALLY revamped this offense. We have Daunte at QB. Think of how many first downs that will translate into!!!

With Gus at 50% and Daunte at 65% -- Daunte will be throwing more passes (30 a Game?) than Gus. I know I'm stating the obvious, but this fact alone speaks volumes of our offense this year.

Now, factor in Chris Chambers, who I honestly believe just finally figured it all out. I know he gets the dropsies, but he is getting better and working hard. I picture the two of them connecting so that Daunte has his new Randy Moss! Chris Chambers runs better routes than Moss, can jump as high, and is entering his prime.

Ronnie Brown has a year under his belt, and he is in better shape than ever. He showed us flashes of brilliance last year. And now we have a much better line, and have literally turned over the 2/3rds of our roster in to much better backups. We have DEPTH.

Last year, we went 9 - 7.

Is this really being presumptious? We are going to have a Top 5 Offense if we can get Daunte in there and keep him healthy.
