Mike JAmes wants to return with The Rockets!!

not really a bummber at all. He ran his mouth, and Coangelo said that they wouldn't go overboard with their contract offer to him.

in 2000, 2001. Alvin Williams,Jerome Williams, and Antonio Davis all had great seasons for the raps, and along with VC almost went to the ECF. So the Raps gave them multi year deals, and none of them played the same way they did that year.

Plus, Calderon is the better PG. James would be ok for a while, and then he'd become a chucker.

That's not a bummer. They're not going to contend any time soon, so I don't see the big issue here. They need to get younger, and next offseason, they'll have enough cash to possibly max out two players now that Jalen Rose's contract is gone. One of them obviously will be Chris Bosh. They should try and do everything in their power to sign Chris Duhon this offseason. Perfect fit, IMO.

They've got a few pieces already in Chris Bosh, Charlie Villanueva, and Matt Bonner. Still rebuilding.

Summer of 2007 is a better year. Save your cash.

I don't get the ''they're not going to contend soon, so it's not a big issue'' mantra. Mike James, as trigger happy as he is, makes the Raptors a better, more talented team. Just look at their record with and without him. CB4 isn't in charge of running the team, but he's openly said he'd like to have Mike James back and it would factor in his decision to resign or not with the Raps.

So, while I do agree that they need to get younger, Mike James saying openly he's looking to go to Houston is a bit disconcerting considering (a) the Raports history with attracting free agents and (b) the potential effect it will have on your franchise player's decision to remain a Raptor.

And you are not looking at the possibilities here. Mike James just put up the best season of his career; he is going to cash in. With Chris Bosh as the only franchise caliber player on the roster, would you promote dropping a nice load on a 33-year old journy man who potentially fluked in with a contract season? Kind've wierd that his entire career, he's been pretty average and all of a sudden when he has his last chance to cash in on the free agent market, boom.

It'd be dumb to give Mike James anything over the MLE, and I wouldn't even give him all of that. Toronto just got rid of a huge contract in Jalen Rose, so why bother sign another vet to a big contract when the following summer, there will be a lot of key young players available? As I've stated, Chris Duhon is an excellent option for any franchise looking for a young, talented point guard with tremendous potential.

Btw, Wade & LeBron to me, will without question re-sign. Carmelo is a big question mark though. I could see Melo leaving for cash and the opportunity to play with another star caliber player, maybe even Chris Bosh? Who knows.

Imagine Melo and Bosh can be intriguing
