Mike Mayock, the NFL Network's draft expert, believes Southern Cal center Ryan Kalil may be the player creating the most momentum for himself during Senior Bowl week as the April NFL draft approaches.

"Ryan Kalil was a guy I knew was a good football player," Mayock said after Wednesday's South team workout at Ladd-Peebles Stadium. "I had him a late first-round, early second-round center, which is an anomaly.
"I think he's been the best offensive lineman down here as far as technique. He's throwing a shutout right now. I really like the way Ryan Kalil moves, so I think he's making himself some money. He could be a first-round center."

Mayock also believes LSU wide receiver Dwayne Bowe has solidified his stock.
"I think he's helped himself," Mayock said of Bowe. "He's 6-2½ , 222 pounds, a great-looking kid with great speed. I think he's a natural first-round pick for a West Coast offense.
"The only question I have about him is when I watch tape, he occasionally drops the football. He had two or three drops (Tuesday) in practice, but I thought he tightened it up (Wednesday). Clearly, in my opinion, he's the top-rated senior receiver in the draft."

Another player catching Mayock's eye is North defensive lineman Amobi Okoye, the 19-year-old prodigy out of Louisville via Huntsville.
"There's some very talented defensive linemen here," Mayock said. "Okoye has really helped himself. That kid is making some money.
"I gave him a second-round grade off tape and he's a kid who could be working himself into the first round. He's really been impressive. His age is an upside for teams. He's 19 and his best football is ahead of him."

Interesting but not necessarily good news. Kalil was a guy I would have loved to pick up in the second round, but it seems like hes moving up draft boards and probably won't be there when we pick. I like Dwayne Bowe, I'd say hes the third best wideout this year behind only Johnson and Jarrett. Unless we trade down, he'd be a reach at nine and gone by the second round so I doubt we'll get him. As for Okoye, depending on whos left at nine, he might be worth considering. However where would he play in the 3-4? He sounds like a perfect fit as a 4-3 tackle so I don't know how that would work out.

good follow up to whats already been known all week. Bowe, Kalil, and Okoye have torn it up this week.

I agree Bowe would be a reach at nine. However I disagree that Jarrett is a better reciever than Bowe. Jarrett in my mind reminds me of a guy like Keyshawn Johnson while Bowe reminds me of a guy like Anquin Boldin. Jarrett just doesnt get much seperation. Bowe is fast for his size and once he catches the ball is hard to take down.

Im glad to know that Dwayne Bowe is a good looking kid, I wouldnt draft him if he was ugly

Mayock does this every year! Last year it was "this young man...Cutler"!!!

True, but he was right. Cutler looks promising. But why are all these draft guys characters (Kiper, Buschbaum (rip), Maylock..)?

If Mayock isn't the best, then he's right up there. That's why I posted it. Speaking of Cutler, he's going to be a stud. I saw a pass a few weeks ago that looked like the second coming of Elway. Props to Mayock for that one.

Cutler was said to be the best by Mayock. We all know its Vince Young.
